Day 1773 Workout ,church prepare for show.

 Does it mean you did a good job shoveling when your hands get numb? It does? Then I did a good job! Now, its off to the gym. As we wrap up another awesome work out. An a abbreviated one at that. I did an hour on the Cybex and burned as it said 650 calories in an hour? I stretched and headed out. I weighed in at 189.


I had a great workout before breakfast shoveled and did an hour of hard cardiovascular activity.  Now we go to church for the readings. From the book of Sirach and a letter from Saint Paul to the Colossians

Day 1772 will this new gym finally open its doors?

After a serious siesta.Now we get to find out...... We get it started with a bang as we do our 71ST double, I did a two hour plus workout. The new arc trainer is different from the 750 A I used yesterday. The Cybex 750 A. I am confident I will figure out how to raise my weight for the workout.

Either way, I found an assisted pull up machine, A room to do the planks and some crunches and stretches.

The goal now is to adjust to the new surroundings.As the snow continues to pile up.
I weighed in at 184 and it felt good to work so hard. I had a chance meeting with one of our guests for the show.

Day 1771 We trek to the outskirts. The earlier we leave the more time we have to workout.

A good move as we ventured to the relatively unknown. What an place to workout except for no incline sit up bench. However there appears to be a machine that will replace it. I know "Dave" BOUGHT THE OLD ONE.So be it, I workout on a Cybex 750A. Very similar to any other arc trainer. I set the program to manual and my weight to 400 pounds for maximum resistance I set the timer to 60 minutes and the challenge to 100 and the incline to 20. All settings were set on the highest they would go. It was a great challenge. In sixty minutes I burned 1038.I left a puddle so I know I definitely had a good workout.

I weighed in at 189. My weight is a mystery because I do consume calories but it is not unhealthy or contains much fat. The only fat I really consume is olive oil and nuts.

If this new gym is similar to this one we should have no challenges.

Day 1770 The last day of the old gym? Will there be any equipment left?

As we were  greeted by a wintry mix . Will that gym have a arc trainer for me to use?? Here I am ready to go at 439 am. The answer is?

Yes. Even though Rusty bought my machine that I worked on today, I still mannaged to do a 2259 calorie burn in 60 minutes and 50 pull ups with

Now it is done.That was my last workout in that gym. If I wish to workout tomorrow I will need to decide on going to another PF gym or workout at home. Although, the new gym is scheduled to open tomorrow, it is not expected to be open until 430 PM.So now the plan is to rise early and get to the gym closest to home base.

Day 1769 A day off, do we dare doing a one hour of weights and one hour without?

We go one step further, we go two hours with the 2 1/2 pound weights on each ankle

As we do our 71ST DOUBLE HOW AWESOME !  Doing the workout with the weights on for two hours was so cool.We burned 4450 calories in 120 minutes and

Its funny, there I was at two gatherings and I ate different food than everyone else. While the other guests enjoyed shrimp scallops with bacon and beef and cookies..
On Christmas Eve, I ate raw vegetables and a baked sweet potato and pretzels and almonds and peanuts.

On Christmas Day, I ate almonds and a big salad with raw vegetables rice and raw romaine and spinach.Their menu included Ham and turkey mashed potato with gravy stuffed breads and shrimp.Pies and cookies and who knows what else.

The new gym is scheduled to open on Friday December 28TH 2012.

Day 1768 MERRY CHRISTMAS!

As usual, it was tough to get a real tough work out in on Christmas. This year, year five I put on 2 1/2 ankle weights around my ankles and rode the life cycle for over an hour. I feel very blessed today as I attended church and arrived late. How ever despite my late arrival I was able to participate in the Christmas service. While I was at my seated in the last pew  I was asked to help with the collection.

All that did not happen. As I found out at 9 pm that the show time was put on automation. So there was no sense doing a show.

We were owed a double. In fact our last double was day 1744. It has been a while. My back felt fine. Boy, they have really cleaned the gym out. I found enough equipment to do.

The past four Christmas have fallen on Days that were a lot more comfortable. In 2009 Christmas was on a Friday,2010 Saturday, 2011 Sunday and now Christmas will be on a Tuesday.

Day 1764 When will, they announce the opening day for the next gym.

I heard indirectly and I did not confirm. Two weeks (Day 1777). So now we have a target date. Christmas' workout what will it consist of? All gyms will be closed my gym which is a broken life cycle or a walk is the only options I have set for now. The place I bought a tread mill at may still be in business and may have a spinning bike for sale. It will cost around 100 to 200. I would use it on Christmas but is it worth it?


I do not like the fan blowing on me while I work out. I wish I knew why. I need to ask simple questions to get the bigger answer.What is it about the fact that a breeze  blowing on me while I workout makes me feel unhappy?

Burned 2215 calories in the hour weighed in at 187. It is funny with no music my whole flow feels altered.Did 50 pull ups.Did a few minutes of 3 planks. Did 340 killers and 430 crunches and 640 quantum crunches with I do not know how many floor crunches.

 Two weeks from yesterday will be not this Friday which is December 28TH but next Friday January 4TH 2013.

Day 1762 Who knows what will be missing

There is always something missing but we do it anyway. We need to stop looking at the hill from the bottom and think about the view from the top. As the days of the old place start to dwindle I noticed fewer people are showing up at the gym. Human nature is funny that way most people I have observed tend to not go gym if there is an obstacle or an excuse. I love it, since I have been all about showing up for last 1762 straight days. Burned 2201 in sixty and shorten my circuit after I did 62 pull ups. I tested myself and scored 8 to 10 which is normal. Weight 186.

Day 1761 Back to regular workout schedule.

I would not call it normal.The machine I have been working out on since January 27, 2010 has been removed from the gym as they are getting ready to close down the current gym and will be opening a new one.

I used a different arc trainer and burned 2215 calories in sixty minutes. It was a challenge to do that so I know I put in another great effort.

How true is that statement? As I was buoyed by my substantial numbers I have climbed back into burning a number of calories during the hour long challenge

Today, I battled and I beat yesterday. Stiff back and all. Oh it is fine once it gets loose. Now it feels fine.I am excited about moving forward through the day.

I did about 3 quarters of what I normally do on the circuit.
Weight 188. That weight will come down. As I have made a few adjustments. No peanuts and no concentrated orange juice.

Day 1755 because you are who you say you are

Getting ready to pop into the gym and do the 1755 + 69=1824TH 1 hour of hard cardio in the last 1755! days.

Boy! It is a good challenge with asore back. I beat yesterday 2279 I wore three heavy layers as the temperature dipped.

Did the circuit gingerly but felt looser as I went along. Weight 187. Today, I am cutting out concentrated orange juice and replacing it with cold orange slices. I will drink seltzer. The plan, seltzer and oranges to see if I lose weight and I have eaten the last of the unsalted peanuts in a shell until, I buy more. The plan, do not buy any more. I will eat the rest of the salted almonds. Then, eat only unsalted almonds or freshly roasted.

Let us change our eating and hopefully capture some different results.

Day 1754 It is beginning to feel a lot like Christmas.

A little reflection here. My body has been tested but is yet to be bested when comes to showing up for an hour of hard cardio. Yesterday, was a good test for my back. As was reported on Day 1744 some 10 days ago when I tweaked it after the day before shrink wrapping drills for 2 hours. Any one up for a pound of flesh? Today I came out of the rack ready to despite some soreness and stiffness. I did

2272 in 60 and it felt great!

I tempered my workout after that and went about half speed. I wanted to see how it felt. I did get looser as we went along but I did not test it too much.
My weight is on the rise. On May 20,2012 ( Day 1579) I weighed in at 174. today 205 days later I weighed in at my highest since March of 2008.

Reason? I have a big appetite after moving heavy objects all day and I have recently been eating a good amount of nuts. Mainly pea nuts and almonds.Our bodies crave by nature fat and salt.I eat mostly fruits, vegetables and whole grains I guess a nut is?

A great work out! Burned 2340 again. I had a fantastic 30 minute pace then I waned and burn less in next 30. I decided yesterday  and today to wear a hood while doing the sixty minutes.

Off too the studio to do last show until after Christmas.

Day 1749 Wow 51 days to 1800 days and 76 days to 5 years!

How many of you would say I am

For working out 1749 days without a day off. Raise your hand if you have ever worked out for 7 consecutive days, or more than 7 consecutive days.

Today, was colder I know I work out inside but I always wear 3 layers of clothes to do my 60 minutes of hard cardiovascular work out. It funny they have made a decision at the gym I work t in that they will no longer fix things that are broken. Their reason is since the place is to be torn down soon what is the value?

It also surprises me how many people need something to take their mind off of their activity they use to work their muscles. I see most with headsets or books or their I eyes clued to the TV's.When it comes to doing a lengthy workout I found out a few years back that I can do my hard cardio in a pitch black setting, with no sounds at all for an hour or more. The way I do it is I focus very hard on going as hard as I can for as long as I can.

Day 1747 Will be better!

Well, I feel better. Thank you. My production was way off as I struggled in the warmer weather to burn calories. I did wear warm clothes as I put on a t shirt and 2 sweat shirts.It all comes down to getting loose. My back has been a little testy and my legs somewhat sore and tight. Yesterday, I did find myself sitting around a lot. Sitting is against my usual mode of operation.

As I burned a poultry 2294 calories in the hour. That machine is still broken with no time line of fixing as the gym I go to is about to close down. They have stated that they will open another gym but who knows.

Day 1745 Do we do another double?

I felt I could have done a double but I also felt if I did another double I would not have enough left to do good circuit so I did an hour plus a good circuit. It felt awesome to burn 2349 in sixty and to do a strong circuit.

Day 1744 We have room for a double!

What phrase makes more sense in spite or despite? Any way disregarding a testy back that I got yesterday around 1130 am at the daily toil. I did do a double. Yep!Burned 4497 calories in 120 minutes that now makes it a total of 69 times within the 1744 day consecutive workout streak where I workout for 2 hours or more  instead of the one hour I do.
 Today, I weighed in at 181. Back was testy, but I was determined.
So the net  out in the last 1744 days is this 1675 one workouts and 68 two hour workouts 1 three hour work out. Now that three hour workout was probably about a year ago.

3 hour workout on December 24TH( day 1036)2010. So it was two years ago.

Day 1036- Merry Christmas! Lets workout for three hours!

God bless all at this wonderful Christmas time! Since we got no place to go, lets do a three hour cardiovascular workout and burn 3795 calories while doing it! Awesome! A marathon like none other I have done before.

I got on the machine at 441 am and no boys and girls no sign of Santa yet. As I looked outside to spot Santa all I could see was darkness. Some three hours later I looked up and it was 741 am and in was sunny outside. I burned more calories than I ever have in one cardiovascular workout.
Just for the record I have now done 1045 sixty minute cardiovascular workouts in the last 1036 days.

I will say I felt awesome, but to be honest, a little wobbly. But no matter, I feel tremendous now! That was an experience like none other.

Well, we all will watch for Santa now!

Day 1742 So, what does trigger a change in your emotional state?

Do realize that is one of the most powerful questions you can ask yourself?

  In a sense what that uncovers is your magic button. I suppose the next great question next to that is  how triggers do you have, what magical words or impulses get you going. Yesterday, for instance I realized I was put under an imposed time crunch and I had to move very quickly to get work done on time. Was that enough of a trigger to get me going? no. I needed one other thought to change my emotional state. That other trigger was the fact that their was no one in the department that was there at all.So it was all me doing the work and being asked questions that I knew I could not accurately answer.
My intensity rose when I realized that these question would interrupt my time frame of completing the job on time.

Day 1740 Something big most have happened in that year!

The crash. Whenever, so it seems that I do the Sunday reading. Or better still, do not get that make up sleep on a Saturday or Sunday or even a Sunday night, I am totally wiped out usually on Monday night . I crashed at 930 pm and got up at 411am but,My performance this morning was not what I was hoping for.

Day 1738 A workout a reading and then prep for the show.

Opted for a 625 am wake up call as I was ultra excited about the results from Notre Dame's superb effort last night in beating USC to earn the right to play for the National Championship.

Now, we do a workout and then go to church and do a second reading, The last reading was just prior to the Storm Sandy on October 28,2012.

The air has shifted from mild to cold as we are now being to feel the start of late fall weather. The heat is on in the house.

Day 1736 Here we go 540 am at the door. In at?

Here we go Black Friday.I thought they going to change it to Super Friday.After a Thanksgiving of which I ate nothing all day until I got home from work and subsisted on seltzer, chopped salad with olive oil and salt and a baked potato, popcorn with salt and freshly roasted almonds. I sacked out after the conclusion of one game and the beginning of another.

Now we gym ( workout) and go to share another experience on a retailer's level of the Friday after Thanksgiving.

An intense workout where I thought for a few seconds I was going to lose it.I didn't and burned 2370 in an hour. As I did a 20 pullups stretched and headed for the door. I weighed in at 183 which might have explained my challenges.

My legs were stiff and by the time I loosened them up I could not catch up.

Day 1736 Happy fifth Thanksgiving! An attitude of gratitude and expectant

Another Thanksgiving a look back

So the game is on, focus is the key to a strong performance. Last thanksgiving was November 27Th 2008 here is what I did-
I burned 928 calories on day 279 of the streak. I was just starting to do the plank exercise. I was doing it for about 3 to 8 minutes.

Today,  Thanksgiving 2009,  was stupendous I got on at 945 and rode hard for the first 10 minutes I did an awesome 165. I knew I had a good shot at doing something awesome I arrived at the 20 minute mark by burning 334 calories. That is a pace of 1000+ per hour. I wound up doing 955 calories in an hour-WAHOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Awesome, did 2 hours and burned 2,549 calories. I wish I could do that every day! Oh what a feeling! Did a few crunches, around 400. I wonder what is hard to change the action or the attitude toward the action? Example, let us assume someone does not like to do something that they know they should be doing. However, they eventually start doing what they should be doing, that's great! Although they really do not like doing it. You see their action completely changed but their attitude about doing it only partially changed. So, in my opinion it is harder to change the attitude than the action.

Day 1732 Workout,show and work a fun day!.

Add in a 2 pm call to Razor Focus and it will be a fun day. As we burned a great and I do mean great 2410 calories from 415 to 515am.Weighed in @ 185 and went and did a fun show. I slept from 1015 to 3 am so I got plenty of rest.

Now, it is off to work Where I would love to get a chance to speak to the group. Especially after talking to the squad at UNH.

Day 1731 We workout hard and prep for the meeting

Boy, did we ever! As we burned 2526 calories in an hour. That's right.I didn't stutter. Twenty five hundred and twenty six calories in an hour. Granted it was a different machine but I was challenged by that same machine last time and burned an average amout of calories in an hour today I felt strong and it felt awesome to break the coldness of this morning.

I did a great chunk of crunches in the circuit also. Especially by doing 12 minutes of plank. The plank is a very simple exercise to gage if you are doing it correctly. When you are covered in sweat while doing you know you did it correctly.

Day 1730 Oh my gosh, we are getting close to 1750!

Finally an awesome full workout. Am I getting off focus? I have been a little preoccupied. AS I have been spending time not sleeping and working on interview and getting my name out there to promote the radio show. I found myself at work in a different location yesterday at 7 am. I am determined to workout and stay  in shape and eat right and work hard and get paid and do a great job in the performance business while keeping every one I meet pumped up. In addition, to keeping a spiritual balance as I do a monthly reading at the church. As I pray for everyone's soul.

Life is good. I need to stay focused on the workout.I decided not to do a double today because I noticed that it fueled my hunger last weekend.I went from 181 weight on Sunday. After my second day of doing a double to 189 on Thursday. I enjoy controling my weight and I do enjoy the challenge of enjoying the right amount of healthy food. I am curious as to why my weight has gone up since all I eat is healthy food. I did eat more pretzels than some but that should not effect my weight that much.

Day 1729 Now, that year was significant,right?

quite the day as I got up at 315 and workout out at 430 had to be at work at 7am in Orange store.As aresult limimted on time and did a cardio and a stretch only.Set newrecord for weight as I weighed in at 189.I am rather perplexed that nI am gaining weight.

Day 1728 In hot pursuit of many things

So true. Yesterday was a great challenge but it was a blast.It started at 315am and ended at 1030 pm but dang , I got a lot done.I managed to capture my speech to the football team and let just about everyone I saw at the daily toil hear it. As we charge ahead we realize life does give us one shot and that is all we get.

I burned 2385 in 60 today.That means I beat yesterday's number by 5.
I was apressed for time and did all of the circuit but in a condensed fashion. I weighed in at 186.

Day 1726 These are great years in the dawning of a new nation

Of course I am referring to the years of 1726 and beyond.As we are decades away from the revolutionary war. However, in my time Day 1726 was a great challenge as I did my very best to burn 2300 calories,

Day 1725 Workout, show and work.

I got up at 3 am after going to bed at 930 pm.That is the most sleep I have had prior to a show since I started doing the show on June 18Th.Yep, back on Day 1578was day1 of the show.Every Monday since then up at 3 am do a workout then the show. 22 shows 22 workouts and today was the latest I arrived at the studio for the show. The reason because the person who usually opens the door at 410 was not there and the replacement did not show up until after. After what? So the race was on I did my workout got out of my sweaty clothes in the gym and raced to the studio. I burned 2439 calories in the sacred hour. I got to the studio at 545am.I feel great got more sleep and had a great show.

MAKE IT 67! As we cruise along on the streak every now and then we throw in a double. Today, I burned a strong 4720 calories in 120 minutes.The math tells me that in 1723 days and 67 days that I have done two 60 minute cardiovascular workouts in one day that means that every 26TH day I have done a two hour or more cardiovascular workout.The most interesting aspect about that is that for four straight days I did a double workout.

It has been a glorious adventure when you consider how far I have come. I did not burn 2400+ in an hour but, I burned 2372 in the first hour and maintain a good pace for the next hour by burning 2348. It felt amazing.

Day 1721 The sweetest part of the day is when I challenge myself and meet the challenge!

The day started with the realization that we did have a snow storm yesterday and through the night.Also the reality that if I want to get the gym and workout and continue my streak of 1721 straight days of doing a hard 60 minute cardio I would have to shovel and then go to the gym and then go to work.


Well, ROGER THAT! I burned 2432 in 60 after shoveling for about an hour then went home showered and now I am off to work.It is warming up so the day should improve weather wise as we move along.

Day 1720 I need to come up with a work out for Thanksgiving Day!

The gym will be open later or not at all in the past four years.Speaking of four years the Obama/ Biden show is scheduled to air for another four years. The 44TH president will remain at large.
Food for thought as we look back on previous thanksgiving workouts

The gym will be open and I may have an opportunity to work.Working would definitely challenge the streak. If I work I will need to wait until later to work out unless between now and Thanksgiving I purchase some equipment

For the second consecutive day I got out of the house later than 455 am and got on the machine after 5 am. As result, I had to eliminate some exercises.

I burned 2411 in 60 which was awesome! I did 42 pull ups and some plank. Then I did some crunches I did 700 q's and 330 killers and 450 crunches. I did no floor crunches. I weighed in at 187.

It is now 3:49 pm and the snow has been falling since 11:15 am what a week and half a hurricane then a nor easter. It is getting messy out there.

Day 1719 As we resume our regular schedule.

Not so fast. I got to the gym later than usual and did my 60 and pull ups and a long plank session and time ran out.

Burned 2371 calories in 60 minutes and did 40 strong pull ups and did an eleven minute plank Three types for 11 total minutes. 4 minutes on sides and 7 in middle.Or 2 with the right elbow and 2 with the left elbow and 7 with both elbows. The challenge was awesome. I feel strong!

Day 1714 The power is back on!

As I lavished in the lap of luxury. Turning the heat on at 415 am.Washing with hot water. Getting ready without the help of a flashlight. Darkness is a very real and powerful thing. It is times like the one I just experienced where it is so easy to understand how people's days years ago ended when it got dark. The phrase making hay while the sun is still shinning is a very powerful statement.

As I sat in my kitchen eating last night with no heat on and only a small piece of light that came from a tiny flashlight I was planning to go to sleep shortly after I finished eating. I was enjoying a nice salad of romaine tomatoes flax seeds a cold baked potato with olive oil and sea salt and a some nice chilled seltzer.

I sat there relaxing and wondering how I was going to keep myself warm enough to sleep.Then all of a sudden I felt a breeze similar to a draft after first I thought it was the wind kicking up again.I was sure I closed the window. Then I realize the breeze was coming for the furnace duct a steady cool breeze. Then, the realization hit me, the furnace went on because the power was back on. I jumped out of my chair and put on the lights.Hallelujah we went 37 hours without electricity and now we have electricity.

He we go, some semblance of normalcy.Up at 410 am in the dark scrambled out of the house.Did my second 2400+ calorie burn in 60 minutes for the second time in 13 hours. Wow.

Day 1712 The day after the storm.

There was some serious fallout from this storm. I have bee without power for while. Oddly enough, I was ready to go to the gym when the power went out at 420 am on Tuesday 10/30/12.Instead of going to the gym which was closed or doing a workout in the dark at home. I decided to go to work. I punched in at 544am and worked right through with no break until 130 pm I was ready to work until two and go home or check to see if the gym had reopened but, I was asked to punch out for lunch.

As fate would have i went to the gym and had reopened I did my workout at 330 pm a great 2449 calorie burn in 60 minutes. I felt awesome I had no power so I showered at the gym and returned to a dark houseI went to bed at 815 pm.

No gym workout as they closed for the day due to the weather. There was no show today because they closed the studio due to the weather. There was no work today due to the weather.

I rode the stationary bike for an hour while shadow boxing. That was today's workout as I was left with only a few options. Hey, I did an hour workout despite the conditions the streak LIVES!

I will workout tomorrow in the gym if the gym is open.

Now, I suppose we will count the hours until the storm hits and we hope the power stays on.

Day 1708 More power to you!

Sober reflection. A good time an evaluation of myself. I am disappointed in my reaction my Yankees losing.I thought I would be able to handle my disappointment better.I am determined to accomplish several projects in the coming days. I was a little put out yesterday because of my soreness and stiffness in my daily toil activity. I am in deed committed to improving on any limits I may have set up for myself yesterday.

I made great strides today as I did my best Billy Mills impersonation and ended my workout with a great kick. The Lord once blessed me when I was very young with a great imagination. I used to love to use my imagination in athletic endeavors. I would pretend I was the great athlete performing the heroic achievement.
Today, I was blessed again with that skill. As I saw myself as Billy Mills in the 1964 Olympics.

Day 1706 Didn't something historical happen in 1706?

There you go Mr Franklin was born. He is the man who was once asked if you were given 4 hours to chop down a tree what would you do? He said I would spend three hours sharpening the axe. When asked why he replied because a man can only be as effective as the instrument is using.

In this case it was the axe. In life, it is how sharp we are and how well we are running that will determine how far we will go.


I was determined to burn more calories today than the day before. I burned 4 more calories than the day before. Awesome. I was also intrigued to try a new exercise.One my body had tried before but failed to do.This time in addition to my usual circuit, I did a side ways plank. Where I turned on my side and used my elbow to support myself. I held myself there for a minute.

Day 1705 Back to the regular workout, cool!

I know when I am tired but yesterday I was so wiped out I almost felt like I was inebriated but I drudged on. It was a full day.I slept from 1130 pm to 3 am. Three and half hours just was not enough. Plus I worked very hard at the daily toil.

So when 5 pm came around I was ready to go.

I pride my self on stamina so I felt weird having to slug out the last 45 minutes of the day.

Day 1703 A day off, and now we chose how to spend it.

I chose to sleep until 930 am which gave me 9 1/2 hours of delicious rest. Then I went to the gym and did a good 2400 calorie burn in 60 minutes and weighed in at 186. I cut short my gym time because I wanted to mow the lawn. I chose to mow the front lawn and then I watched my beloved NY Giants beat the Washington Redskins then I mowed the back lawn. I felt great and am psyched for the show tomorrow at 6 am.

Day 1702 A double?

I believe as I stand here on this overcast morning with the sun or what visible sign we will have of  it about to rise we  will begin to except the challenge of a double as I need to be ready to leave for work around noon.
I sense but am not clear that a double would be totally exhilarating.

The  addicted gambler gets a high from their activity that usually is rated  on a scale of one to ten as an eight to a nine. While their other activities in their life rate a three to a four on the scale of making them high. Is this true? I am not sure but I would imagine there is a big gap between the power of gambling has versus the power of other activities has over their life. There must be, because why else would they be willing to risk it all for the high of the gamble. Another point is clear, it is the process not the result the addicted one enjoys. In reality, he does not care if he wins or loses.

This leads me to my quest. I to love the process of working out everyday and enjoy the result at the same time. I have a long term goal as well as short term goals. I consider what I do both a mental and physical challenge which I embrace. There is something amazing that happens when..... you know what I mean.

Here is a neat thought. When I reach day 2013 we will be in the year 2013. The day will be 187 days from 2/23/13. Pretty neat, huh? It will be the 241st day of year 2013.September 7, 2013 I will be at 2013.I will had passed all the years.So in 312 days we will be there.GOOD LORD WILLING.

Day 1699 Yesterday, did you help at least one person see the benefit of working out?

Day 1698 I am psyched for the challenge workout then work!

Step one ;done! Burned 2320 know this is the machine I have done about 1000 workouts on. The one I used yesterday was a different one and it easier to get a higher calorie count.Did I just say 1000 wor out on? yeah, in about 950 days.

I am not one to get full of myself I know what I am doing is just a fraction of what millions of others have done. My challenge is to be confident enough to know that what I have done and am doing can help millions of other people. I need to establish some effective way to get that message out.

Day 1695 Me, you and Precor eliptical

The weather has turned a little cool here but,  I am happy as a lark as the Yanks sang their way  to to ALCS.

Despite having more libations than I have in quite sometime.I did a 940 calories burn in sixty minutes. It felt great. However, I wanted to crank out a great challenge and I thought I was after I set the resistance to 20 and manual for the entire sixty minutes. I guess I must getting accustomed to the movements because I was able to do the workout and my heart rate did not go up.

I hunted and peck for the incline sit up bench and did 340 killers and 450 crunches and 300 floor crunches and 7 minutes of plank with 20 assisted pull ups.

Weight 178.. Only one more workout to go in town. Then, its back to the familiar local.

Day 1694 Let us hit the Precor and see if we can burn 1000 an hour.


 Woke up at 630 am and shut the alarm as I used today as a catch up on sleep day. This week which is a vacation week I have given myself less sleep than I do on a work week.So today, I chose to sleep an extra hour.

I didn't burn a 1000 in an hour but, I beat yesterday's number by burning 940 calories in the hour. My heart rate was not as high as I mistakenly put in the wrong amount of resistance I thought I put in 18 but instead put in 14 which was not as difficult as yesterday's workout where I had a heart of 130 for the hour's average.  I did not notice my error until there were three minutes left in the hour.I boost my resistance to 20 for the last three minutes to challenge myself further.

Today, I found an assist pull up machine and did 10 90 pound assisted pull ups. This machine was different from the other one back in the other gym because the machine positions you on your knees rather than your feet. I did 340 killers and 450 crunches and 200 floor crunches and 4 minutes of plank. My weight was 180.
It was a tremendous work out and I enjoyed it immensely.

Day 1693 The seat was rough yesterday, I may have to use the Precor eliptical today.

I did use Precor Eliptical and got a great workout. I burned 870 in and hour and averaged 130 as a heart rate. I did 330 killers and 440 crunches. I did a 7 minute plank and I did 200 quasi floor crunches. My weight was 178.

The Browns vs Cincinnati on Sunday? Looks like a good possibility. As we conclude day 3's road trip workout I realize mixing up the workouts is a great challenge.

Day 1694 Let us hit the Precor and see if we can burn 1000 an hour.

Day 1692 My goal is to get back to hard cardio and hard circuit and a good stretch!

A phenomenal workout, as I did the Life Cycle for the second straight day. I measured my heart rate and I was a steady 136 - 140 for most of the sixty minutes.I burned about 750 calories and was challenged as I set the machine to 18 on a scale of 25.What a rush.

Today, was my first day of a weekly membership a Fitness Works. I hunted around for some circuit equipment to work out on and found an incline sit up bench and a good stretch machine and area.
I did a 4 minute plank and a 270 killers and 330 crunches. There was no assisted pull up bar and no quantum machine. I weighed in at 178. I am sitting here relaxing and it feels very vacation like.

I prepared a little for my reading on October 28TH.I belief we will attendind the Pro Football Hall of Fame this afternoon.

Day 1691 as we workout at fitness works.

Well, slight change of plans traq was the venue today. I worked with my sister and brother in law. At a training facility in Avon, Ohio.-

TRAQ Performance Institute where I used a Life Cycle for the first time in over 500 days.

It was a great workout as I was able to challenge myself and worked very hard to burn 750 calories in the hour.Which is rather incredulous when you consider that I was at the highest random level on the machine for one hour. My weight per a different scale was 180.

 A slight stretch but for the second straight day no abdominals and chin up or plank. Tomorrow I do plan on doing an awesome workout.

Day 1692 My goal is to get back to hard cardio and hard circuit and a good stretch!

What an awesome workout! I did not burn 2400 + in either hour but I did burn 4601 calories in 2 hours as I completed my 65TH and ran my total 60 minute cardio workout to 1753 workouts.SaWeet!

Day 1687 We are going to get some sleep and wake up refreshed and limber!

I allowed my plans for a great night of rest to get shorten to a good night of rest.I also allowed my fatigue to get the better of me. I was tired and for some reason became irritable and had an out burst of emotions I did not want to have.

I got up at 411 got on the machine at 450 and burned by the strength of the Lord 2404 calories as I pushed very hard for the last few calories. I have only missed 2400+ calories twice since Day 1641.

Day 1686 Where are the Yanks heading?

As they win and I witness their next game will be in Texas or in Baltimore they will play the winner of the 1st ever wild card play in game in the history of the MLB. Buoyed last night's excitement I did a great 2410 calorie burn in sixty today despite an extremely active day at the daily toil.

I had less sleep than I should have but I was so excited I could not get to bed. My daily was noteworthy because of how much I did. I "put away" over 40 major appliances. If you know what I mean by put away lets just think about this.. the go on an 8 to 16 foot shelf. I put away 3 pallets of paint.I put away 5 windows.I never took a break except for lunch and I stopped work at 552 pm.

Day 1685- Now we march our course towards my first vacation since Day 1208= 480 days.

Big Day! Big Day! As we blast out a sweet 2414 calorie burn in sixty in which there was no quit in me today.Praise the LORD. Today, we see ourselves as a mere fifteen days shy of 1700! How astonishing this all is. Just less than six months from five years.The total days for five will be 365x 4+ 366= 1826.Only 141 days from 5 years.

I am now almost 92 percent of the way to 5 years. If this was an hour's ride I would only five minutes from my destination.

Day 1684 Back to all the fun stuff, how did you hold up with such little rest?

I held good yesterday as I tried my best to keep as active as I could .It felt great to finally hit the pillow at 915 pm. I was challenged when I got up but as usual I never had any thought of retreat. I was determinred to shake off any stiffness and move forward.

I burned only 2388 in sixty.In only the second time in 43 days I have now burned less than 2400 calories in an hour. I got back to the circuit by;

We did not do the double but, after a solid eighteen hours of rest and  sleep in the last two nights I gunned it to get 2500 calories in sixty.I had a great pace and it felt incredible as I burned 2474 calories.

Day 1681 Do we do a double? Do we work today?

No,No and No. Oh, two no's were enough. Actually, it is only one no. To summarize No double because I was schedule to meet someone and I slept until 810am the reason I slept 810 is interesting. I set the alarm to 525 am.Are following me?Then when the larm went off I decided since I did not have to be anywhere until 11 am I would sleep until 625 am because I thought I had the alarm already in preset at 625 am.Well I feel back into a blissful sleep only to wake up at 810 am.Much to my surprise as I was waiting for the alarm to go on.It never did. However as I learned earlier my preset of 625 am was not 625 am it was 625 pm!

Hence, the shorter workout.As I arrived at the gym at 925 am.I know 925am is an hour and 15 minutes from the time I woke up. The big question is what did I do for 75 minutes? Now, the real big question is what did I do when I got home from the daily toil yesterday at 620 pm?

Simple, I got into bed to sleep but, I only slept for a few hours then got up and showered and enjoyed Yankee baseball then went to sleep at 1140 pm. Then some 9 hours later I had my longest sleep in about 2 weeks.Can someone please explain to me how I can be more achy after a long sleep than a sorter sleep? Is it the lack of comfort from the mattress?

Anyway I got back on the horse and burn 2400 + calories in an hour for the 39TH time in 40 days.As I burned a good strong 2434 calories in an hour.One again it was an awesome feeling.

Day 1679 We climb to Mount 38!

I thought I had it pinned at 30 minutes but boy, it kept fighting back.Finally nailed it at about 57 minutes that when I knew I had it. I as thinking about fifty for a fe minutess then I was fighting hard just to keep it at 20.

All this may make sense to some but, the bottomline is I as trying to keep the pace to beat 2400 calories burned in an hour.

It takes a lot to do it every day but, dang if it is not a lot of fun!

Day 1678 As we attack 37 days!

Wow, that was not easy.Having smashed my shin on a block of wood about 40 minutes before leaving the daily toil. I woke up this morning again at 410 am! Got on the machine at 5 am and proceeded to burn 2420 calories in sixty minutes, again. Same amount as yesterday.Now, the streak is at 37 days of burning 2400+ calories in an hour.

Perspective, I'd say there are about 200 million adults in the US today. I wonder how many of those 200 million have done at least 1 hour of hard cardio for the last 1678 or more days? My guess is maybe 2 million? One out of a hundred? No way. Maybe 1 out of 500.My ego tells me not. One out of a 1000 that means only 2000 people in America today have done what I have done over the last 1678 days.Wow!

As I did my 64TH double and did my 34th straight 2400+ calorie burn in 60 minutes. Limited the workout to strict cardiovascular.A good two hours.

Day 1674 I will get more sleep and here comes 33!

Yes ladies and gentlemen it is post time( 630am).Monday through Friday I am usually done with my cardio at this time but, on Saturday and Sunday I do my work out later.


Here goes....

Make it 33 straight days where I burned at least 2400 calories in an hour.Today, I burned 2462 not bad when I had burned 1200 in the first half of the hour.

I  it was Day 706 when I stopped doing my hour workouts on the Life cycle.Now, in the last 968 days I have used the Cybex Arc trainer..I have added to my hourly calorie burn by first burning around 1300 calories an hour and now for the last 33 days 2400 calories an hour.The difference being by adding more weight to the actual weight setting I get more resistance and then burning more calories by increasing my speed.

The weight is hard to figure it could a little more muscle mass or it could be just a slower metabolism. I feel like I have been eating more because my appetite has increased. I do not usually stop moving from 4am to 630 pm Monday through Friday.For two years I did not stop for Seven days a week.

Day 1673 Friday did you catch up on sleep?

Nope. In fact with all the excitement and intrigue I got less sleep.I watch most of two games last night.As in a rare instance my two favorite teams were playing at the same time on a week day night. The other part of both games I laid in bed listening to on the radio.

None the less I got up when the mirimba music started to play and went to the gym and for the 32ND day I burned 2400+ calories in an hour. I burned 2419.

Day 1670 Back to a regular schedule can we do three in a row and 29 days!

Well, I started strong. I burned 825 calories in the first twenty minutes.I was on pace for 206 calories per five minutes. Not bad.You know the old Roger Bannister a quarter of a mile every minute to do a four minute mile strategy. Yesterday, my pace was a little faster.I was thinking okay pick up the pace and then we can do another 2500+ calorie burn in sixty.So I flipped the switch and guess what? No such pick up. I said I should be at 840 by 20 minutes into the workout.And I was at 838.I figured okay not bad. Keep the pace and you will have 1676 at 40.Then do another 838, and you will break 2500 !

It all sounded good then I hit the wall.I was barely able ton do 200 in five minutes and I wound up despite a tremendous effort burning, 2411 calories in the hour.Instead of burning 1676 calories in the last 40 minutes I burned 1573.Not a great performance but I kept the streak going to 29 days of burning 2400.

Today, I don't know what got into me.I just felt so strong as I burned 2500+ calories in sixty minutes for the second day in a row. I burned 2518 calories.Felt great.That was a sensational feeling. Day 28 of 2400+.

Day 1667 we go for 26TH day and our 63RD double.Right?

I slept and rested enough let's do it! Out of work earlier and down to the studio and worked on some recording practices.


Here we go.......

As I walked out of gym after an incredible workout and took deep one deep breath I said out loud "if this is my last breath I will die a happy man!" The weather outside today is so gorgeous and refreshing.

It is funny how much of a drop off in calories burned in the first hour as compare to in the second hour.Funny what do you mean by funny do I amuse you? There I was flying along at 4200 calories burned in the first 1 hour and forty five minutes.Then, wham. I burned 536 calories in the last 15 minutes. Still, an awesome work out.


Just received word no work tonight.However, next Saturday will work maybe a double.

Day 1666 kind of a creepy number.

My what a week. As the weather has gotten  autumnal I started wearing three layers. Today. I wore only two a long sleeve shirt and a heavy sweat shirt.I finished with a great run to burn 2400+ calories for 25Th consecutive day. Today, I need to clear up my hours and leave after I put in my 40 TH hour of the week.

Day 1665 Now we are deep into this way of life.

When you consider what I have gone  through in the last 4 years and 7 1/2 months it is easy to see why this has been an adventure of a lifetime.I have risen every day to meet a challenge that puts me in a place where I could never have imagined.I thank God for these blessings. I praise him for my strength. I know deep in my heart that it is only because of him that I have maintained this pace. Mentally, I am at a place that I am truly in awe of.

As I leave the house, I feel renewed and refreshed........

I feel spiritual more today than  in past days. Which is great because I believe we are all spirits living in a human body or form. Today, this form or body was spirited enough to burn more than 2400 calories for the 24TH consecutive day.

Day 1663 Back to a regular schedule

As the cooler more refreshing air comes in and the days get shorter on sun light its time to wear three layers as we do our daily hourly cardio workout.This will be the second season that I will choose to workout in non fan conditions and the first season I will wear three layers of clothing while I continue the big streak now at 1663 days and counting and 22 straight days and counting for burning 2400 plus calories per hour.

Today, while I burned 2425 calories in an hour. I wore a t shirt a long sleeved shirt and a heavy sweatshirt and shorts. Perfect, awesome a great challenge at 5 am. Yesterday, on maybe three hours of sleep I did my 2459 calorie burn workout in one hour.Then last night, I was like a person dying to crawl into a restful position as the lack of sleep caught up with me. I went down at 830 pm and awoke at 410 am and got to the gym some 24 hours after I completed my workout from yesterday.

Put me down for 51 pull ups and 5 minutes of plank. 400 killers and 510 crunches and 700 q's and 800 floors. Weight? 184.

Today workout and then first week of NFL 's Sunday games.Every Sunday until February 3,2013.All total, it will be 22 weeks of the NFL . That is 154 days until the Super bowl. Wow!

I had my eye on 2500 calories to burn as I gave it all I had to burn 1257 calories in the next 30 minutes. I felt good on the pull ups and did 40. I did 5 minutes on the plank and did 1000 q's as I did those crunches first. Then did 340 killers and 440 crunches and 800 floors.My weight is at 186 as The almonds I have been eating my be helping me produce some muscle. Or am I some how gaining weight by eating them?

Now we focus on preparing for the morning show. First a workout then the studio then shower and out to Newington.

Day 1660 Not sure if work is in the offing-Looking for a double

The work plan is set for a 530 pm start time as my Yanks playing tonight.It is now 614 am my workout will begin around 645. As I go for nineteen in a row days of burning 2400 plus calories in an hour.I feel I will do that first then enjoy one hour after that.

I do owe myself that as the next two days will see if I can break my previous streak.

Play by  play of a vigorous workout:
645 am start on the Cybex arc trainer in first 30 minutes of planned 120 minute workout I burned 1190 calories.
In next 30 minutes, I burned 1248 calories for a total calorie burn in the first 60 minutes 2438. I continued on for the next hour and burned 1171 calories. My total burn in 120 minutes was 4809. Which is the most I have done in two hours for a long time.

I did a little research and reviewed back to double workout # 45, that was on  May 26th Day 1555. At no date that far back did I see a workout of 2 hours where I burned 4800 calories or more in two hours.

As we conclude an awesome workout  that lasted 2 1/2 hours and included the 62ND double workout I burned 4809 calories in 120 minutes.I did 40 pullups and 4 minutes with 330 killer crunches and 430 crunches with 700 q's and 800 floors. Weight 183.

Day 1659 Did you contact Fitworks?

Sure did.All set pay 27 for the week and I am in for the workouts. It is alot more than 10 a month I pay at PF but heck, it is a vacation.The streak will continue in October, Good Lord willing.speaking of streaks, it is now 18 days in a row I have burned 2400 plus in an hour.My weight has gone up but I think its because I have been feeling dry and have been increasing my in take in liquids and solids.Like romaine, tomatoes and cherries and grapes and almonds, baked potatoes and rice cakes and hot salsa honey grain bagel.

Day 1658 We did put in for our time off on Tuesday 9/4

Enough with the vacation talks but I do have contact Fitworks to arrange for a spot to work out while on vacation.To me part of a vacation is to workout.

As we continue our streak to 17 days with a 2437 calorie burn.AS I burned 1237 in the last thirty mines. With 40 pull ups 4 minutes of plank and 340 killers and 450 crunches and 630 q's with 800 floors and a weigh in of 186.I think because the vocation has not had me moving all day and my appetite has stayed the same.I feel right now I need to improve on appetite attitude.I feel the 80% full rule needs to be brought in.

Day 1657 33 days until OHIO!

I continue fight as I refuse to lose this streak.I burned 2420 in 60. So, now the streak is 16 days. My last streak was 20 days and that was interrupted by only one day before I started the current streak of days.

I did 50 pullups and 2 segments of plank first was 2 1/2 minutes and the second was 4 minutes.It has been a stretch of high humidity as I was completely drenched while doing my crunches and plank.360 killers,440 crunches and 610 q's and 800 floors. My weight has actually gone up to 186 the highest in a while.

Day 1656 Back to normal!

With a tremendous effort and a refuse to lose attitude between the hour of 5 am and 6 am this morning I maintained the streak. I am proud to say I have burned 2400 plus calories in an hour each day since Day 1641.a total of 15 days.

Today, I had to burn 1256 calories in the last 30 minutes to burn the 2406 calories I burned within the hour.  When I noticed how much I had to burn to burn 2400 calories with 30 minutes to go I got very determined.I knew I had to dramatically increase the pace.I had to go from burning 38.33 calories a minute to burning  41.67 per minute. I knew for next 30 minutes I had to not give mysel not a single second of pause.

When I came back and completed my effort I was exhausted. I did 30 pull ups and  4 minutes of plan. 350 killers,430 crunches and 500 q's and 600 floors. Weight 184-

Day 1655 Lets do it!

Got everything done. Was determined and I did it.

  1. Got up at 411 am
  2. Got to the studio at 520 am
  3. Did a great radio show
  4. Arrived at the gym at 722 am
  5. From 725 to 825 am burned more than 2400 calories in an hour( 2442) my weight on the scale was 185)
  6. Left gym at 833 am
  7. Clocked in at work 851 am
  8. Left work at 502 pm
  9. Shopped bought return airline ticket
Then, I finally showered! Ah, feel great.

By my own choosing I selected all these activities.

Day 1654 Do we do the double?

I am thinking .... not. As we get moving after church we prepare for the show and the morning's activities.Tomorrow, the game plan will be studio then workout then work. As Labor Day is officially celebrated.

I realize all will be a tight squeeze as I shoe horn in an hour workout.

  • 6am - 7 am show
  • 720-30 workout
  • 820-830 leave for work.
Here goes.

No double but, went really hard at the 2400 + mark. Had an excellent pace at 30 minutes and carried it through to a 2449 calorie burn in 60. Today is the 13TH consecutive day I did a workout where I burned 2400 calories or more in sixty minutes. I did 50 pull ups and 7 minutes of plank,with 340 killers and 430 crunches.700 q's and 800 floors.I weighed in AGAIN at 179. Thats is pretty awesome with out doing a double.

The Records:
  • 1654 straight days of doing a sixty minute cardiovascular workout
  • 60 workouts where I did at least 2 hours of cardiovascular workouts
  • 13 straight days of burning 2400 or more calories in an hour 
There in lies the rub. The focus is to keep the focus.Granted, tomorrow will be hectic in the beginning but by staying focused things will go off without a hitch.

Day 1653 WE go for our 60TH double!

I miss  my old Saturday routine, which I did prior to starting the radio show.The first radio show I did  was Monday June 18Th 2012 a total of  11 weeks.On Mondays, when the show airs I  get up at 3am go to the gyym then atfrom 6 am to 7 am the show is on.. However, on the weekend I have been sleeping in on Sunday and Saturday. In an effort to catch up on sleep I lose during the week.

Today, I will do the gym and then mow the lawn. The weather should be cool enough for an awesome workout! It is now 915 am, I should be done with those two tasks by 1 or 2 pm. I am getting ready!

Monday, since the gym opens at 7 am I cannot go in before the radio show. I will go in the gym just before I go to work

Here we go, two simple tasks!......

A great challenge met.First, we did our 60TH  double by burning 4667 calories in 120 minutes.In the first hour I did burn 2430 calories in an hour for the twelve time in as many days by burning 2400 calories in an hour.. I stretched and weighed in at 179 and headed home to complete the second task which was mowing the lawn I completed those two tasks and now I am resting.

Day 1652 On wards and up wards.

The ward of the day was not up.It was just wards as in on wards.The strength was there in the end as I finished by burning 2424 calories.I pushed very hard in the last five minutes as in the previous 25 minutes I burned. 51 pull ups 5 minutes of plank 350 killers, 420 crunches and 500 q's and 800 floors.Weight 184.

Supposedly a shorter duration today as both the miles and the hours got racked up.

Day 1651 No Ware? Hey wait, am I eating a watermelon side ways?

We resume regular programming and have a blast.Burned 2429 to keep streak going at 10 days of burning 2400 calories per hour.Back to a 51 pull up a 7 minute plank.340 killer and a 500 crunch and a 620 q with a 800 floor crunch workout! I love it welcome back,sir.It is good to be back , sir. Weight 183.AS the daily toil in Ware similar in many ways to the toil in main store.Love the work.

Day 1650 A milestone

When add in the 59 two hour or more workouts my total workouts are actually 1709!
Today as I bolted from the house I thought I put in that I burned 2415 calories in the hour.My streak is now at 9 straight days of burning at least 2400 calories in an hour. However, for the third straight day I did not do my circuit of pull ups, plank and crunches. Weight 183. Maybe because I was home at 8 pm eat and went to sleep.Of course, After watching the Yankees win!

As we ready ourselves for the day ahead, we do a work out and then go to the station for another broadcast of Sports Monday, on 88.7 WNHU, West Haven.Timeline; 4 am out the door.

Did burn 2456 calories in sixty minutes streak is alive at seven. Weighed at 183. Had a great show.

Day 1647 Its work then workout as there is a 530 am all store meeting.

A splendid morning wonderful coolness in the air makes it simply beautiful. As I completed a very refreshing 2455 calorie burn in sixty minutes work out. Now, upon completion of the awesome cardio I did a solid 40 pull ups and 4 minute plank and 350 killer and 520 crunch and 1010 of q's with 800 floors and my weight was 182.

Day 1646 As we approach nickel nickel.

We go for fifty nine but, all of a sudden I have this kalidescope of things I will be doing or attempting to do in the next 48 hours.

Here goes, and it starts with a double;

4739 double in 120 minutes which includes 2416 in the first hour which keeps the streak alive at four consecutive days of burning at least 2400 calories per hour. The streak started on day 1641. As far as burning 2400 back to back well, that's a story for a different day. In the second hour I burned 2323 calories. I zipped through the circuit. Doing 20 pull ups and 5 minutes of plank,340 killers and 430 crunches and 600 q's and 800 floors. I weighed in at 181.

Day 1645 getting close to 1650 which equals more than 4 1/2 years!

We do burn 2400 + calories and we do beat yesterday and we do keep the streak alive at three.We do 50 pull ups and 7 minutes of plank and 340 killers,480 crunches and 1030 q's and 800 floor crunches as we weigh in at 183.We begin to add a little flax seed to the diet.

Now we do a double and plant our feet firmly in the ground and make our stand!

Day 1644 another neat number!

We fought real hard and burned 2408 thanks to burning 418 calories in the last ten minutes. I find by watching the calorie burn my work out is intensified.Its like running a race, I believe when someone is trying to beat you, your efforts increase.

I poured out as I did 43 pull ups and 7 minutes of plank then 1000 q's and 340 killers,440 crunches and 800 floor crunches. Weight 183.

Streak is at 2 .Two days consecutively at a 2400+ calorie burn per hour.

Day 1645 getting close to 1650 which equals more than 4 1/2 years!
