Day 829 we have a good challenge on hand

The plan usually is workout, work, home and sleep. With plenty of time for each. Well today the 60 minute workout will be wedged in with a shoe horn. The gym will be available @ 7 am technically and with a strong effort I will be done by 8 am. That leaves 25 minutes to get home shower dress eat and go. It ought to be a fun drive to get it done. Here I go. I figure if I get there very early and wait before the doors to open I will increase my chances of leaving by 825 am---

With a break I got on the machine at 633 am off at 733 am showered and at the pc at 8 am.-WHEW!
The only glitch was the machine was not working properly. According to it I burned only 1260 calories.

Heck, I worked hard so be it.

Day 828-We can take a quick breather here

Not! Up at 525 ready to go. Do a good workout then get ready for a nice diversion, featuring a hosting of a picnic. It is good for the soul to do things for others and with others.

Great question to p amonder. Would you like to have a 100,000 dollars or a month of nothing but totally positive thoughts.

I wonder what the consensus would be on this question?

We blasted the good blast and burned 1,428 calories in an hour. Got to the gym at 640 am, got on the machine at 650 am. Tomorrow we plan to do it a little earlier.

Day 827- Special set of numbers!

For all you people born on the eighth month and the twenty seventh day hear is a salute to you. I will dedicated today's workout to you. Today the gym opens at 7 am. For the past five days I have begun my workout between 548 and 6 am. Right now it is 612 am. I am scheduled to be at work at 10:40 am. So, I have an opportunity to spend a few extra minutes posting some thoughts.

My body feels great! My calorie burn in the sixty intervals were consistent I burned a maximum of 1433 an a minimum of 1400. The arc trainers, which there are many in the gym are all set at different resistances. I can say this through experience and experiment. I always set the machine on manual, sixty minutes, hundred percent resistance and ten on the incline.I have used about seven different machines and I have noticed my numbers are either higher or lower for the amount of calories I burn.

I have identified three areas in the gym; first is the area leading out towards the back of the gym second; is the area looking directly at the front desk third is the area in the back of the gym. The first area is the area where there is only one machine that effectively serves my purposes. I usually burn 1420 or more calories on this machine. The second area is a area where not as much air is calculated and has two machines I have used both and found their resistance to be more intense. On these machines I have yet to burn over 1410 calories in sixty minutes. In the third area there is a tremendous amount of air circulation and it is there that I once burned 1500 calories in a sixty minute interval. Those machines in which there are about eight of them all seem to have a lower resistance have been where I seem to burn the more calories on average.

So, to explain my past six days performances I will identify the areas of the gym I have performed in:

Monday used area 2 burned 1400
Tuesday used area 1 burned 1419
Wednesday used area 1 burned 1433
Thursday used area 2 burned 1404
Friday used area 1 burned 1420
Saturday used area 2 burned 1430 I felt awesome as I had a good kick at the end of the workout!
On this day, Day 827 I will have completed my 9Th straight day of working and of course, working out.

Day 825 - Now is the time to appreciate a routine

A routine has power. A plan within a routine has strength.A streak is probably one of the strongest forces you can have. Long live the streak----Did a 1,404 blast in the heat. I loved it!

Wednesday, May 26, 2010

Day 824 - I was a early to bed early rise participant

What a fresh start. By going to sleep at 11 pm I was able to wake up prior to the 525 am wake up call. I woke with a lot of energy. Got on the machine at 548 am. Beat the early mark by 3 minutes. Was in the house by 7 18 am. It is exciting to burn 1,333 calories by 648 am --YES ---

Tuesday, May 25, 2010

Day 823 The routine neds to take root

Down earlier up fresher. Practice visualizing vitality strength and rest. Ah, the ying and the yang. The action and the rest. In a small window of time it is very clear as to what is the objective. Breath hard rest breath hard. In twenty hours the pattern needs to be consistent for the good of the continued effort.

Burned 1,419 calories from 5:54 am to 6:54 am.

Monday, May 24, 2010

Day 822 - Feeling stonger everyday

Folks, I have learned a great deal during this journey. I have learned a tremendous about my body, mind and spirit. I have come to some realizations in these areas and I plan on sharing them in the coming days.

Now I am off to work after a good workout out of burning 1,400 calories in 60 minutes.

Sunday, May 23, 2010

Day 821- All we all are ever promised is three things

It is funny whenever I think of the word promise I usually think of positive thoughts. Thoughts that revolve around a cheerful outlook. As we explore the definition of the word promise we find it means to give grounds for expectations. Well, the only things that are really promised are the fact that we are going live and we are going to die and some where in between there, we are going to have a hard time. That is it. Count on it. Our lives are a result of how we handle the hard times.

Well I felt great as I burned 1,439 calories in an hour.

Saturday, May 22, 2010

Day 820- I love this countdown!

This is it, two mad men cycles( 90 days) and we hit 1,000 days. Yesterday I was off my feet a lot for the first time in awhile. By off my feet I am referring to sitting in one spot. I usually do not sit for any significant period of time. I am curious to see what kind of effect that will have on my workout today.

Today started well, I was able to beat my wake up call by 11 minutes. Awesome, in bed by 11 pm slept very good til 5 am ish. I am anxious to get in there This week I started my workout around six am four days of the last five days. Also, yesterday was the first day of the planned 8 day run of workout, work and home schedule. Awesome, let us see what I got! And to make it more fun, 5 of the 8 days are planned to be workout at 6 am.

Ah, sleep is the key to keeping the engine rolling!

The engine rolled and sprinted to a 1,431 calorie burn workout in 60 minutes.

Friday, May 21, 2010

Day 819- Awesome weather as we start out with a great workout!

Burned 1,423 in 60 minutes. On the machine with less resistance. Got to the machine at 5:55 am back in house at 7:25 am - OK, here we go! Dressed, fed and ready to play.

Thursday, May 20, 2010

Day 818 - The journey begins......

The plan is simple get rest have energy. Went down at 10 :30 pm got up at 5:25 am. Now, that is almost seven hours of being off my feet and resting. Cool, I hit the ground running. Rose at 5:25 on machine 5:51 am. Home by 7:25 am. Now that is the stride! Burned 1,400 calories in 60 minutes- To quote Jon English,

Out there in the spotlight you're a million miles away and every ounce of energy you try to give away as the sweat pours out your body like the music that you play.

Wednesday, May 19, 2010

Day 817- The dry run

Do it right in drill and you do it right in life. Today, I went through the paces. Jumped out of the bed at 5:25 am, started the workout at 5:55 am, completed the 60 minutes. At 7:30 am arrived home to shower and eat then left house. Dressed, fed and ready to play at 8:25 am.

Burned 1,418 calories in 60 minutes! Again, that awesome feeling!

Tuesday, May 18, 2010

Day 816- I fell out of the routine but the sleep was worth it!

Lest us never forget the power of a good rest. For instance, on Thursday through Sunday I got no more than 5 hours of sleep. However, last night I got 6 and half hours of sleep. It was awesome, I felt so refreshed when I woke up. I noticed during my workout even though I did not burn as many calories as I normally do. I did feel myself expending the energy and it felt great.

I need to use my time a little more wisely. If my goal is to work 65 hours a week and workout every day I will need cut my night shorter. I pushed myself on Sunday night by staying up late and getting up early on Monday. By Monday night I was feeling a little tired. My determination was strong and my desire was keen. Before I went to bed I set my timer to be woken at 5:25 am. The timer went off I got up and shut it off and said nah I need to rest. Good choice the rest felt good. Now I know to go to sleep earlier on Sunday and Monday night and I we will be able to maintain the streak and work 65 hours a week.

Monday, May 17, 2010

Day 815- We begin a routine today

My quest is to rise @ 5:25 am daily and get to the gym by 6 am or earlier. Leave the gym by 7:20 am or earlier. Then leave my home by 8:25 am - Yes! That the streak begin.

Day 1 of the routine, burned 1,409 calories in an hour felt great! With God's strength I proceed with confidence.

Sunday, May 16, 2010

Day 814- With energy to spare we struck a convenient number

So we burned 1,414 calories on Day 814. This is the best similarities of numbers since day 715. Why do I say that? Well, on February 6TH Babe Ruth was born. Also, on February 6TH I completed my 715TH day of consecutive workouts. Thus, surpassing Babe Ruth's special number of career home runs of 714. Ah, the streak has a life of its own.

Saturday, May 15, 2010

Day 813- Third early start

Are we getting April weather in May and vice versa? Does it matter? The main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing.

Question: Do you still enjoy the workout?
Answer: Yes!
Question: Why do you still enjoy the workout?
Answer: Competition, I want to see what I have got. I love flow, the motion and the challenge. I love how it gets my juices flowing. I especially love the energy and the ability to pour it out.
Question: What about you? Do you have that passion for what you are doing?

Now wait a second, who is asking the questions?
Answer: We are all asking questions every second of everyday. What we do and how we think is our answer to those questions.

With a spirit of determination 1,436 calories were burned in 60 minutes. Over dressing may have slowed me down but regardless of the perspiration victory was a hand! Whenever more calories are burned in the second half than the first we win.

Okay, here is the play we rise at 5:30 am we get the gym by 6 am we workout and we are home by 7:30 am - Got it ?

Friday, May 14, 2010

Day 812- Second early start in an effort to stay focused

Yesterday, I rose at six am. Today I do like wise. I needed to set a strong routine to have power. As I have said before there is tremendous power in habits. My streak is evidence that.My belief is system is a manifestation of my results. The goal that I have set is at 1,000. I am 80.1% of the way there. I belief there will be many challenges along the way. I pray to God that I will have the strength to overcome them.

Expand my vision by doing a strong 1,452 calorie burn. I was challenged to burn more however I was stronger in the second 30 minutes than in the first. I love it! I burned 715 in the first thirty minutes, then came on even stronger by burning 737 in the second thirty minutes. Let us call that a plus 22. Bottom line, I loosened up to deliver that effort.

We 188 days away. I once read somewhere, "the spies are everywhere."What the spies a spy to me represents a challenge. A challenge that you do not know where it is just assume it is everywhere. I was once in a business where we called tremendous efforts 90 day madman cycles- Well, two more cycles to victory!

Day 811- We focus on the morrow to create a strong future

Time waits for no man. Time flows by and leaves memories. Happy now's are happy was's. I blasted with a great effort a 1,427 calorie burn in 60 minutes. The effort was due to the challenge of the machine. Although, I felt great, I do wish I had burned more calories.

Wednesday, May 12, 2010

Day 810 - I beg your pardon

I did not promise you a rose garden-
The only thing that anyone is promised is an opportunity and a hard time.
Reality check, what you do decide to do with both, goes a long way in determining your destiny.

Today I burned more calories than yesterday. My total of 1,462 calories in 60 minutes left me feeling strong.I felt strong knowing I burned 33 more calories in the same amount of time!In the last 7 days my arc trainer calorie burn numbers look like this... 1462,1429,1451,1432,1463,1452 & 1490. Those are good numbers!

To think only 190 days to go to get 1,000 days.

Tuesday, May 11, 2010

Day 809- I was very determined to burn over 1400 calories

It my quest to attack the workout today. I had used this particular arc trainer before and had trouble burning over 1,300 calories in an hour. This time, I was very determined and succeeded in burning 1,429 calories in an hour. All right!

Monday, May 10, 2010

Day 808- After catching up on some sleep....

Came out with some fire- or a the Canadian hockey players love to say "like a house a fire"- Felt great and got stronger as the workout went on. In the first 30 minutes I burn 715 calories and in the next 30 minutes I burned 736 calories. You see, this where the game is so much fun. Today's goal was to burn 1,440 calories in an hour. After the first 30 minutes I was 5 calories off the pace. I needed to burn 725 more calories in the next 30 minutes to win!( hit my goal ). With tremendous focus I burned 736 in the next 30 minutes. By picking up speed I won by 11 calories. The feeling was awesome! VICTORY!

Day 806- Me and the arc trainer

Well, today is day what of the AT? Let me see, I started on January 28 TH 2010. Day 706 to be precise, a total of 100 workouts ago. Given the 2 days for the procedure and allowing for the extra workout I did on one day my total is 99 workouts exactly on the arc trainer in the last 100 days. That is fine by me because I did 723 workouts in 718 days on the life cycle and arc trainer combined. As for me, doing 87 workouts in 88 days is no big deal because in the last 806 days I will have done 810 workouts.

Good battle, today.Burned 1,432 in 60 minutes. After 3 hours and 45 minutes
Yesterday was physical! Gym at 7 am burned 1463. Mowed lawn at 8:30 am. Had breakfast did yard work. Dumped top soil planted seed spread straw watered lawn. Went work ran around until 10 pm. Like I said, "physical".

Friday, May 7, 2010

Day 805- The day is glorious a nice early start

Up at 6:20 am working out by 7 am burned 1,463 calories in 60 minutes can I get an amen? I said can I get an AMEN?

Was asked a few questions today - Here was my response.

What was your weight when you started ? Answer: for the streak 195 lbs
What is your weight now ? 180 lbs
What was your state of health when you started ? for the streak about average
I noticed that you are a vegan is that correct ? for about 140 days
When did you become a vegan ? Since 1/1/10

Just curious. I hope you don't mind answering these questions.

Nah, I love the workout questions - Thanks for asking.

I have to ask you a few questions about the workout thing.

Why did you start ? Well I always played sports and when I stopped playing sports like basketball and softball and flag football. Here is my testimonial. You know the thing that drives me the most is the pure competition of it - Everyday was the question is Can I beat yesterday's mark? Will I give it my all?
This is right up your alley! I remember you were always very competitive.
I noticed I started to eat and drink more then gain weight and felt like shit. So, I decided to start working out. Primarily riding the lifecycle. Once I started to workout hard on the lifecycle. I started to feel good and lost about 20 lbs. Prior to working out I weighed about 240.I got down to 210 and watched my diet. But I still ate like a 240 pound guy.So I decided to cut back and increase my workout. Then within about 5 years of moderate working out and eating I got down to 195. Now here is where the story gets interesting. Every lent I would give up drinking beer and I noticed at the end of lent I would lose about 10 lbs. I said wow, that's cool then I would go back to drinking beer and of course I would workout about 5 or 6 days a week. Then I met a worker at work and we started talking about positive stuff. Like if you believe it you can achieve it all stuff that I had been really motivated about before. Then I started thinking. What would happen if I increased my workout and cut back on my fat in take and for that matter my food in take? While I was contemplating all this, I was practicing lent and had given up beer and a few fattening foods. So I said let's go for it! Heck, I was in good health felt strong and was fired up. I then decided I was not going to take a day off from working out. Let us see what happens I felt like Christopher Columbus. OK, watch out the world is flat you are all going to die- WRONG! I got sore but not much I just kept going for it everyday I felt better and better. I did get skinny which was weird but I felt great strong and lean. I got down to 163. But then I ate more and my weight leveled out. What a feeling when you have total control of your body. I mean physically and mentally. If, I felt like eating I ate, if I didn't I would not eat but I would still workout! Working out has got to be on of the best forms of enjoyment for me.

Sorry I went off on all that stuff, but I think everyone should try to workout daily the high I get from 1) being in shape 2) the flood of endorphins is priceless.
As far as being a vegan this my first year of it. But it was not that difficult of a transition. My cholesterol was around 232 and I have since got it down to 203 with no meds just exercise and eating right. My goal is get the number as far down as possible. I was at 180 back on day 200 or so.
Read my blog and become a follower http://john-aseyecit.blogspot.com/

Great questions- I think I'll put this in the blog-
Look for it in Day 805.there you ---go!

Day 804- What have I become?

Great question? That question opens the door to a tremendous amount of other questions. When you focus in on what you have become you have to ask first, what was I before I became who I am?

Powerful stuff! I believe if we analyze our thoughts they usually become our words then our actions. Now as we consider our words that have become our actions it is easy to see how our actions can now become our behavior. We all know repeated behavior leads to our habits. Are you still with me? Picture this we now have an individual that has thought his way into a cluster of habits. Sound familiar? So in essence, what I have become is a sum total of my habits. My character is who I have become. My thoughts are who I have become. Everyday, this character is driven by his or her decisions. The destiny of all us will be our decisions- The great thing about all of us is we all have the power to make our own decisions. Reason, we are all human beings.

Well, today I move ahead during day 804 and with the good Lord willing complete the 808Th workout in the last 804 days.

Sporting a great attitude and a burning desire to have an awesome workout, I ran the total of workouts to the goal of 808 workouts in 804 days. With enthusiasm I burned 1452 calories in the hour.

With in charity in my heart I contacted a local social service organization with and idea for a fund raiser. I was unable to reach the individual but I did left a voice mail message.

A voice mail message. I remember wen answering machines first came out. Then came voice mail. I probably sold one of the first business voice mail systems. In those days they were not attached to the phone system. Ha!

Wednesday, May 5, 2010

Day 803- When you set a goal your learn a few things-

Great point - But what do you learn? For starters, you learn where you are. Knowing where your are is a huge part of knowing where you want to go. Usually taking the time ( even if it is just a second) takes a lot of guts. Here is a prime example. I was doing my workout today and oer heard some ask what are your goals? Now to me that is an awesome question. I love it when I am asked that. Well, everyone is different. This individual who was being asked thought it was a condescending remark. The person's reply was I do not know you well enough to answer that. O--Kay,in fairness to the questioner the reply from that was how awesome it is to have goals and how it allows you to improve yourself. I think the person did not quite understand but no matter, goal setting is away of life. To paraphrase Jim Rohn," unless you have a goal you become part of another person's goal. Guess what that person has planned for you? Not much-

Boy that gets me fired up just the idea of a goal and challenge of - Right now I am crystallizing in my mind 1000. After today's calorie burn of 1,490 in 60 along with 200 crunches. I am now down to 197 days until 1,000 days.

Tuesday, May 4, 2010

Day 802 - Will be starting in the PM

Domestic responsibilities have delayed today's launch. The launch, what an interesting word.
Without looking up the exact definition
I would imagine that it has to do with moving from one spot to another. Mainly a movement from the ground to the air.I am extremely motivated to complete both my domestic responsibilities and my daily workout.

Just for interest's the definition means To throw or propel with force; hurl: launch a spear. As I said a great word. I felt great and got that delicious flow going. Thanks to the flow and the prayer from "The Power of Positive Thinking", I was able to burn the most calories this week. Yes sir, I burned 1,458 in 60 minutes.

Monday, May 3, 2010

Day 801- Only 199 days until 1000!

We must always throw out another challenge. According the book the "art of war" the first thing a samurai must learn to manage is his body. I am working hard a managing my body. I kept it active on a daily basis with a vigorous 60 minute cardiovascular workout. I know I am not on the samurai level but I have done the workout for 801 consecutive days.

Today, I burned 1,452 calories in an hour.

Sunday, May 2, 2010

Day 800- Where do I begin?

I suppose February 23 RD 2008 would be a good start. That is when I woke up and said I think I will workout today. It goes to show when you repeat an action it becomes a habit. There you have it, the action has been repeated 800 days in a row. The habit is deeply embedded into my conscious its like an action that is a part of you. Some my have pets that they care for on a daily basis so I am sure they can relate to the mindset behind the action. Everyday that pet has to fed or walked or something. My action is a 60 minute cardiovascular workout.

I would love to chat about it, but now I will go DO IT

Did a 1455 calorie burn in 60 minutes which beats yesterday's 1454!
The goal is always to beat the day before total.

Saturday, May 1, 2010

Day 799- May 1st, has spring finally sprung?

I feel spry after a nice doubleheader from the day before. A refreshing shower preceded by 4 1/2 hours of sleep. Let's get a good workout in on this lovely day!

Some days you wonder did I get a good workout? Or you ask yourself did I really try my hardest? I always want to answer myself with an emphatic YES. Well, today there was no doubt about it! I felt everything as I hurled my body to complete the pace of the workout. When I was done there was nothing left.Just a huge smile on my face. That is when you know you gave it your all-----O what a feeling!

You only you know what it took to achieve it and how it feels. Burned a good 1,454 calories in 60 minutes- Ah right!
