In sixty minutes I burned 1355 calories
50 assisted chin ups
200 killer crunches
900 crunches

  1. rest
  2. enthusiasm( 1300TH workout in last 1286 days)
  3. strength

Could be a combination of all three . Either way I felt and feel great.

As we head for day 1287 we inch ever closer to the magical 1300Th day!

day 1285 The fish stinks at the head

There are some things that in life that are very simple. Here is one of them.

What is the main job of management? What does each manager job all boil down to?
Answer: Their ability to get other people to do their work. There !That is simple, right?

Example, if someone does not show up on time the manager is late. When you are in a service business the customer is the king. Why? Because without the customer, there is no business.

Today the gym did not open on time and a lot of people's routines were interrupted.

Poor management. Why? Because they let go of a reliable worker and replaced it with an unreliable worker.I saw it coming a mile away. I am shocked they had no back up plan when this new person did not show up. I thought they knew the job of management. Open the doors to serve the customer.

Today, I had no time for anything but cardio

In sixty minutes I burned 1390 calories
0 assisted chin ups
0 killer crunches
0 crunches

Lets see what day 1286 brings on time ?

Day 1283 Was a battle!

Despite the hurricane we got it in.The gym was closed. I decided to use my life cycle and pedaled for 65 minutes while shadow boxing. I crunched for a few minutes and did a short plank with some push ups.

As of now it is 1054 am the storm has took a surprising inland turn and has headed west. Over 1/2 million CLNP customers are without power. We are in its final push, which equates to about 3 to 4 hours to go.

To keep conformity;

In sixty minutes while riding the life cycle and shadow boxing I burned ? calories
0 assisted chin ups
00 killer crunches
00 crunches
150 floor crunches
two minutes of plank

The weather tomorrow is suppose to be much nicer as we head toward an open gym?
Day 1284 maybe full of surprises.

Day 1282 As we usher in another Birthday praise the Lord

Here I am at 605 am On Saturday # 183 as my day of years is recognized. Since yesterday I steered clear of any thing but cardiovascular exercise in the gym , my daily toil was amazingly active. I must have moved at least 4000 pounds of freight and packed away all of it away. All about as fast as I could along with other physical endeavours to numerous to recall.

In retrospect, it was a good decision to do just cardio in the gym as my day included plenty of ab work and back work.

So now, with a whole day ahead we start with a workout and brace for a hurricane and find something to do to ENJOY the birthday.

Ah, a look back at other birthday workouts

Birthday 51, August 27 2008
day 187; knee funny saw charles pounded out a 911- @ 169 lbs
Birthday 52, August 27 2009

Birthday 53, August 27, 2010

In sixty minutes I burned 1343 calories

The effort was solid its raining and a hurricane is coming up the east coast and is about 24 hours away. There is a possibility of losing power.

Onto day 1283 with some interpretation.

Today was a day similar to others where I just said let's see what I got. As we can see I had a lot of crunch in me.

Day 1277 A tie in number of calories burned in sixty!

My efforts today took me to high levels of perspiration. Working out on 19 hours between workouts I burned the same amount of calories in the same sixty minutes as I did yesterday.Man, it felt awesome the humidity was high when I started but, I warmed up quickly and felt strong during the entire work out which included 110 killer crunches. A killer crunch is a crunch where I work an abdominal muscle that I have not exercised in a while. It is in essence a lower abdominal muscle crunch. Whoa, I do feel it!

In sixty minutes I burned 1396 calories cannot believe I tied yesterday!
60 assisted chin ups
110 killer crunches
650 crunches
800 floor crunches
seven minutes of plank

The best way to describe a crunch is you do not go all the way to relax the muscle you just keep it tight and repeat the process as fast as you can. Doing it on the lower muscles is for me, is an awesome challenge.

Day 1278 we are making way for 1300!

Day 1275 We count them down

Purported to get good rest last night (10:30 to 525am). Six hours and fifty five minutes. Wow, almost seven hours! Not bad for a week that averaged a little less than six a night. Now we set or focus on today and the excitement the prospects of a planned day off from the daily toil.

My last day off was on August 4Th ( Day 1259). Prior to that it was July 17TH ( Day 1241).
Do the Math since Day 1241 I have had 2 days off. That is two days off in the last 35 days. Or, one day off since Day 1242. One day off in the last 33 days.

Okay, okay I get the point. Its time to enjoy a day off from the daily toil.

As I rest prior to my next workout, I realize that this my 182ND consecutive Saturday. This leaves 18 more Saturdays to hit 1400 days. Knowing full well that I have done 1289 workouts in the last 1275 days.

We will see in a start while what we have!...

We had a lot to offer, as I got real focused and...

In sixty minutes I burned 1404 calories
60 assisted chin ups
60 killer crunches
820 crunches
700 floor crunches
four minutes of plank

Felt awesome and strong!

We go for day 1276. The famous day off!

Friday, August 19, 2011

Day 1274 Tomorrow will be the 182ND Saturday!

That is correct it will be the 182ND consecutive Saturdays that I have done at least sixty minutes of cardiovascular exercise.
After yesterday's amazingly challenging day at the daily toil, I bounced back and ---
In sixty minutes I burned 1354 calories
50 assisted chin ups
50 killer crunches
650 crunches
720 floor crunches
five minutes of plank

I am psyched that after a painful beginning to the killer crunches that I feel good with doing them 50 times.

Day 1275 will be the 182ND Saturday! How awesome is that - Eighteen weeks from 200 and 200 equals 1400 days!

Day 1273 On five and half hours rest we muster up...

I did a great strong workout!I felt very focused. I picked up both strength and speed as I kept working out from 449 to 6 35am. I heard a comment today about it was tough to get out of bed. I hope the fact that I announced my feelings on that subject did not offend anyone. But, man that is right where I live. I am so mechanical that when the marimba goes on I rise and go to the gym. That sound to me means go to the gym. So I did that and ...

In sixty minutes I burned 1382 calories
40 assisted chin ups
40 killer crunches
560 crunches
700 floor crunches
five minutes of plank

Splendid! Day 1274. Can we break 1400?? Let's check it out!

Day 1271 The rest quest turned out to a success

I got down at 940 pm and got a good rest. I benefited from a cool night and a restful mind. When I got on the machine it was 454am. With a good 6 and half hours of sleep I felt great and

In sixty minutes I burned 1349 calories
20 assisted chin ups
10 killer crunches
450 crunches
700 floor crunches
four minutes of plank

I felt tremendous - Here is an interesting observation. Upon weighing myself after my workout yesterday and then just prior to my after work shower last night I noticed my weight did not change. That includes eating fruit all day and toiling all day from 7 am to 530 pm. Very interesting. I guess I burned what I took in.

Day 1272 the forecast is for a great day.I will see you there.

Monday, August 15, 2011

Day 1270- My rest? A nice short nap equals 3 1/2 hours

That is correct three and half hours. I went to sleep at 1230 am and woke up at 410 am. I came to the house from the daily toil at 945 pm after showering, eating and looking at TV. I went to sleep around 1230 am only to wake up at 410 am and

In sixty minutes I burned 1340 calories
15 assisted chin ups
360 crunches
600 floor crunches
four minutes of plank

Now, tonight is the key. I need to play catch up on sleep. If I get back six hours at least, I should be good. Six hours gets me down around ten pm.

Last week I did not catch up until Friday. This I plan on making it different.

Day 1271 with a good rest behind me!

Sunday, August 14, 2011

Day 1269 A we see if all this rest brings rise to a great workout

As the rain pelts down on this August Sunday morning, we ready ourselves for some time to workout prior to our daily toil. Yesterday in addition to a great workout I was on the clock for 8 and half hours of motion.

As we realize a little hint of a season change in the air. Heck at my daily toil they are readying for Halloween. My sleep was eight and one half hours last night( 11:30 pm- 8 am ). I focused and physically psyched to tackle today's workout.

I felt good and as I warmed up I felt great--- I wish I had more time today because I would have done two hour ride!

In sixty minutes I burned 1382 calories
11 assisted chin ups
350 crunches
700 floor crunches
four minutes of plank

I need more time and money.. HA-- IS THERE ANY OF US, AMONG US, THAT CANNOT SAY THAT? The question is simple, what am I willing to sacrifice to get it?

Ah, the Monday challenge- I'm ready!

Day 1270!

Day 1268 The rest felt good; now lets see how it translates....

Into action on the fine morning. My body have been somewhat achy lately. Perhaps, it is some dopey virus that is passing through. It is a challenge especially since I have been enjoying such a easy go of it over the last few weeks. As I get through it I do realize the value of the right amount of rest. For some reason other than lack of calmness I did not allow myself enough sleep this week . I am sure the sleep would have helped me feel better.

There is a great quote and I am not sure how it goes , exactly. The problems with all humans arises because because they do not know when to rest quietly in their rooms.

The actual quote is this, it is from Pascal

I have often said that the sole cause of man’s unhappiness is that he does not know how to sit quietly in his room. A man wealthy enough for life’s needs would never leave home to go to sea or besiege some fortress if he knew how to stay at home and enjoy it.

I believe there is an enormous power in that one thought.Rest, so you can be strong and enjoy life.

Now, we shall see how it translates to action!

It did translate well as I put better numbers and definitely felt MORE alive!

In sixty minutes I burned 1392 calories
10 assisted chin ups
220 crunches
500 floor crunches
four minutes of plank

In the area of burning 1392 calories in an hour, I burned 670 calories in the first half hour. I always marvel at how close I come to attaining some goals. By burning 670 in the first half that means I burned 722 in the second half hour. Now in burning 1392 in 60 minutes that means I burned 23.2 calories per minute. My goal was to burn 1400 calories per hour which equals 23.33 per minute. Now, since I burned .386 calories per second. When I fell 8 calories burned off the mark that means I missed by 3.09 seconds of hitting my goal. Oh that is painful. Three and nine one hundredth of a second.

Oh well tomorrow we have to crush that and burn 1440++

Day 1269 is on the mind!

Friday, August 12, 2011

Day 1267 Am I in a slump?

Battled to burn 1319 in the hour. Proud to finish strong and the effort but not enamored of my attitude. I think I feel beat up. Which is better than actually feeling beat up. Yesterday while at the daily toil, I gave myself a sliver which took about an hour of my time to remove. Now I own a slice in my hand and have to keep it clean.

The show goes on. No abs for the second straight day-

In sixty minutes I burned 1319 calories
0 assisted chin ups
00 crunches
0 floor crunches
zero minutes of plank

Day 1268 I will be ready!

Thursday, August 11, 2011

Day 1266 Fiddle sticks

Had enough juice to close strong on 1320 in sixty and stretched and held off on ab work.

I want to come back strong for ab work tomorrow!

In sixty minutes I burned 1320 calories

00 crunches

Day 1267 as it gets a less humid.

Day 1264 I seem to be regaining my strength

As baseball scouts say, " he does not seem to have much pop in his bat". Well, that was me yesterday. As the rigors of working out and doing physical labor for about eight hours to its tool on a body that had 3 hours and forty five minutes of rest. Boy, by six o'clock my body and mind were tired. Despite eating little all day I went home and ate less than normal and slept.

Six and half hours later I

In sixty minutes I burned 1330 calories
51 assisted chin ups
1220 crunches
500 floor crunches
eight minutes of plank

It took a while but I have come back around and feel awesome.

A thought about the contest as I now have watched each of the finalist.
John is to me the favorite because he has a lot of energy and conviction
Patrick is a returning finalist.

now we stare down day 1265. Lets see who blinks.

Day 1263 We do notice a few things

You do notice a few simple patterns of behavior when your routines are firmly established. For instance; I tend to sleep longer on Sunday morning and sleep less on Monday. I have been averaging about a 6 and half hour sleep on Sunday and a 4 hour sleep on Monday. Then, by the time Monday night comes along I am usually tired enough to sleep from 10 pm to 4 am. The key is my energy level which is pretty consistent although today I felt good but simply could not find the next gear as I had been doing on the previous days. Today on limited rest between workouts I --

In sixty minutes I burned 1345 calories
50 assisted chin ups
1000 crunches
400 floor crunches
seven minutes of plank

all on 18 hours and seventeen minutes of rest.

Its all about the energy. Today, I go after my 21 day of work in last 22 days.

Day 1264, will leave me 36 days short of 1300. Sounds awesome to me.

Day 1262 Mark it down, its raining-----

After a long sleep. Much in need. We zero in on, a workout designed to wake up the echoes. It will be interesting to see how this plays out......

By the time I was done it had stopped raining and I burned 1406 calories.

In sixty minutes I burned 1406 calories
0 assisted chin ups

0 floor crunches
zero minutes of plank

Ode to sleep then quick workout and then back to work--- And I would not want it ANY---OTHER----WAY!

Day 1263 cut me a slice!

Day 1261 Now, its time to manage my dis appointments

The list of five was called and I was notified via email that I was not going to be one of the five. The email was not my only notification. I was told by my cousin that the announcement of the five finalist was coming at 305 pm. I scurried to a radio and heard the first four finalist announced. Then with bated breath, the announcer said," I am having trouble saying this last name. Folks, at that point I knew he was not referring to my last name. My mind raced, could it be Josh? Then, I realized it was Neeraj.

Oh for heaven sakes, it was not me. My first thought in the intensity of the moment was why?
What happened I was very entertaining and I thought that was the magic formula. A little stick and flair. Then, I remember what my dear friend had said," it is between you and the one who presented his thoughts very well and had much less of a personality than your presentation . I said okay I buy it. I also understood, that one of the other finalist had a similiar approach to landing the five spot as I did. So, perhaps in an effort to offer a more diverse selection of personalities to the next round our friend Neeraj was the right choice.

However, I was able to watch my audition and saw how my presentation although entertaining was not as thorough as the winners. In many areas he painted precise word pictures of the current state of the NY teams landscape. He did an awesome job of staying on point and a strong job of being accurate with his facts. He spoke more eloquently then I did and was not fazed in the least by the challenge. After looking at his previous video he was very consistent with his style from one presentation to another.

No, I learned rather lost. I think my approach was exactly what I wanted to do. But, I miss read the situation I should been more prepared to show my understanding of sports.

The next time, I will be more in tune with my feelings of the subject and present my thoughts in a different way.

All in all, it was a blast to perform and compete in such an interesting and awesome event.

Now, we go and workout------

Finished strong!

In sixty minutes I burned 1389 calories
60 assisted chin ups
1400 crunches
550 floor crunches
seven minutes of plank

Felt awesome and had good positive thoughts parading through my mind.

Word to the new people that are just starting to workout.

Eat less
workout on an empty stomach
no matter what you do, do something
the very next day, try to eat less and do a little more than the day before

There, do that every day for a month and you will feel a hundred times better than you did when you started.
Day 1262 only 38 more to hit 1300!

Friday, August 5, 2011

Day 1260 With enthusiasm at a very high level I gave them all I had!

With a goal of going one step further. I hope my performance last night was what the judges were looking for. The roll call is simply this; Mathew,Mathew,Neeraj,Nick,Josh,Justin,Keith,Tara,Ed and John. Out of those ten, one will be called during the 5 o'clock hour on the fan. My goal was to make my presentation exciting and entertaining and informative. I wanted to show knowledge and passion. I believe I did that.
And to make the night even more special, my best and dearest friend drove A LONG WAY to watch my performance. Man, that was awesome.
Now, its up to the judges to say which of us will move on.

Wow!

In sixty minutes I burned 1380 calories
80 assisted chin ups
1400 crunches
550 floor crunches
ten minutes of plank
Not bad on 4 hours of sleep!

Now, its on to day 1261 and yet another Saturday. Within a few hours(9 hours) I should know what lies ahead!

Thursday, August 4, 2011

Now, I know my history. I am current. I am fluid in my reporting on what is happening I feel confident in my ability to assess any question regarding the NY area teams.

Time will tell-----

Day 1260 will be here and I will attack it!

Day 1257 We are beginning are approach on 6 pm on August the fourth

As Rudy said, when he was asked,"are you ready for this, champ?" I've been ready for this my whole life! Why did he say that? He said that because he was on the threshold of reaching his dream. Rudy had come so far.The person had sacrificed so much to get to that moment in time. I believe all training and all my effort has lead me to the night ahead. I feel I have a story to tell that people want to hear. I determined to see this through.

In sixty minutes I burned 1365 calories
67 assisted chin ups
1300 crunches
500 floor crunches
eight minutes of plank

I am feeling awesome while and after these workouts. I think by shedding the other two layers I have been rejuvenated!

Today, I actually leave work early to visit the dentist. What a sluggard!

Day 1258 comes next. Are you ready for this, champ?

Day 1256 We are working with a singleness of purpose

To clarify its meaning; "You can have anything you want -- if you want it badly enough. You can be anything you want to be, do anything you set out to accomplish if you hold to that desire with singleness of purpose." ~ Abraham Lincoln

How true is that? So true, that it is scary. So, what exactly is a singleness of purpose?
Think about this, intention, aim, goal, target, object.

Those are the words which best describe my idea of singleness of purpose. I am targeting the hours of 6 pm through 8 pm on this Thursday August 4TH as my peak moments of the week. It all points toward an awesome explosion of energy as the clock ticks down to that period of time.

In sixty minutes I burned 1355 calories
65 assisted chin ups
1375 crunches
450 floor crunches
eight minutes of plank

Another awesome workout. Thanks be to God.

We bolt towards day 1257 with a gleam in our eye.
