Day 1529 We are back and ready to go!

With the weather unseasonably cooler we do a 2322 on the newer machine in the room with no fans. The machine has more resistance so it s a more challenging way to exercise. I love it! I am wearing two less layers of clothing. I have noticed since I have done that my weight after the workout has gone up. Now, I am not really sure why the weight is now at 186 when it was at 182 when I wore 2 extra layers. I have been working out very hard both in the gym and at the daily toil. So, I feel more muscular and my clothes fit fine.

I did 30 84 pound assisted chin ups. 300 killer crunches.430 crunches 530 q's. Seven minutes of down plank. 800 floors.

Day 1530 - WOW! What strong number.

Day 1528 A double no excuses!

Did the double burned the 4693 in two hours and used the other machine. As I realize the opportunity to go through a workout without the fan going on is not good. Besides I really have no control over it. However if I go to the place where there are no fans....I am in control over the fact that there will be no fans going on. I did 35 100 pound assisted chin ups 300 killers, 450 crunches. 620 q's. I was pretty tired by then. As we did a 2 minute down plank. Then we did 800 floor crunches. I weighed in at 183- Geez!

Talk about solitude.  A 10 hour sleep followed by 3 hours of working out.

Now we build a new local, as the weather is now ready to take its final turn.Who knows?-- 41 doubles in the books.

Day 1527 It is a tight one tomorrow will see about getting two in!

No deuce today. Although, I was on the machine at 640 am.
I blasted out 2329 on the machine in the area where there a no fans. I just cannot get past that feeling of being soaking wet then putting a fan on. I wind up freezing. Maybe it is just me. But since they feel it is their duty to put on a fan. Need to use a machine that is in a different location. So be it did 35 chin ups with 88 pounds of assistance then I did 34 killer crunches with 440 crunches and 530 q's. I did 1200 floor crunches and 7 minutes of down plank. I weighed in at a surprising 188. I had a very physical week at the daily toil. I either put on muscle weight or eat a lot more. I think I just added muscle weight.

Day 1526 Day 1523 completed the 50TH month!

Did a strong 2451. I just kept feeling stronger and stronger and I did not want to stop.I burned 1260 in the second half hour. That is a 2520 pace. By burning 2457 versus 2351 yesterday I burned 106 more calories in the same amount of time as yesterday on the same machine.I burned an average of 2351/60= 39.18 per minute in burning 2457/60=40.95 per minute. I burned 1.77 more calories per minute. In essence I was 2 minutes faster today than yesterday.

Weighed in at 184 after a good chin ab workout.

Day 1527 It is a tight one tomorrow will see about getting two in!

Day 1525 and I am still alive

And feeling great! We did a nice 2351 and killed in the other part of the gym. I mean just wrecked the place. With the assistance of 88 pounds I did 40 chin ups. The chin up apparatus is really very interesting. First you stand on the top step of a stool and then you grab on to a chin up bar and step off and do your chin ups. I did my q's first and did 840 of them. The most in awhile I did 340 killers and 450 crunches. I was able to do 8 minutes in the down position plank- no up position.I did 800 floor crunches. I weighed in at 184.

Felt awesome. Now we head towards seventy five to get to 1600 days. Right now I am at 50 months and 2 days.

Day 1524 Almost a month of 1500's.

No talk but another work out. Decide treat my ailment by not exerting myself so much. Wore only 3 pieces of clothing versus 5 pieces. I figured if I had less clothing I would not sweat quite so much. Burned 2362 with a good push at the end.

Day 1523 You and I have memories longer than the road that stretches out ahead!

Boy that was some workout. I am talking about Saturday and Sunday's. When you do doubles back to back and youhave not done them for a little while the after shocks can slow you down. I feel like I am somewhat back on track. It is amazing how the same workout is so much muscle memory.
I was not as explosive as I had been but, I did burn 2325 and did do 45 chin ups with 78 pounds of assistance.I did 400 killers and 520 crunches and 800 q's. I did 800 floors and 5 minutes down and two minutes up plank. I weighed in at 183.

Felt great and I am ready for the talk.

Day 1522 Yes, we are doing doubles on week ends.

I usually feel this way whenever I go on a doubles splurge.
I WISH I COULD DO DOUBLES EVERY DAY! Don't get me wrong, I love the singles but that feeling of doing 2 hours is so awesome. I did my workout on 16 hours and 47 minutes of rest. So really I worked out for 3 hours and six minutes in 18 hours and 53 minutes.Whenever I consider that some great exploit I remind myself of Stu Mittleman. The one who ran 1000 miles in 12 days.

Today, I burned 2365 calories in sixty minutes I pushed to get 2400 but my body was not having it. Heck that is 2500 less than yesterday. I did more chin ups and crunches though.I did 43 assisted chin ups with 88 pounds of assistance. My back felt testy. But, I did 330 killers 440 crunches and 620 q's. With 800 floors and 5 minutes of down plank I passed on the up plank. I weighed in at 183.

A great workout as I feel refresh and ready for the daily toil.

Day 1522- Can you believe 27 years of consecutive wedlock? 4/20/85

First day of no work since April 7Th ( which was not a planned day off I just got my times mixed up)Today, was planned.As it does feel good to know that I do not have to be anywhere today.
We are forever searching for that perfect workout.Today, was not it, but even though my numbers weren't great I still felt better than yesterday.

As I set my sights on 126 minutes and burned 4817 calories in 2 hours and six minutes. I felt good as I used a different machine. The numbers  are usually lower on the other machines. I averaged 38.2 calories a minute. I weighed in at  177. Those numbers I know, are not accurate but I do lose about 5 pounds of water weight each time I do a 2 hour plus workout on the arc trainer by Cybex machine. 

TODAY WAS MY 40TH DAY OF DOING A 2 HOUR PLUS WORKOUT.I average a two hour plus workout ever 38 days.However, over the last 16 weeks I have done about 20.
We did light on the chin abs but will do more tomorrow.

Day 1522 Yes, we are doing doubles on week ends.

Day 1520! We are eighty away from 1600.Now, we do 2.

I did a 2 hour and five minute cardiovascular workout where I burned 4862 calories in 125 minutes. That is a 38.9 calorie per minute pace.I emptied the tank. I did 40 chin ups with 84 pounds of assistance. I was in deed fatigued as I did a smaller amount of crunches. I did 330 killers 360 crunches and 400 q's no planks. 500 floors I weighed in at 178!

Day 1519 Just about to 20!

We are ready for our weekly double.With some good planning we could hit 40 doubles by Sunday. We have got 38 in right now. I was just browsing the web and found this interesting bit of information. Its called seven habit of slim people. Now I would not consider myself as slim. But....I have manage to maintain a good weight for a few years. 1) exercise in morning before breakfast
2)  eat small meals through out the day
3)  eat slower savor your meals
4) not skipping breakfast
5) better monitors of the health the weigh themselves regularly and they KEEP A JOURNAL

There you have it and there you have a big chunk of me.
Boy I cannot explain my lifestyle more simply. I suppose the fitness habit I have is work. I work on my feet all day long and do exercise all day long. I eat at lunch fruit and whole grain and green tea. I workout or try to workout all day long. I try to work everyday. I work out every day.

I keep a journal everyday. Today, I tied yesterday's number. Can you believe it,TIED!( 2417 in sixty) I did 33 84 pound assisted chin ups. I did 330 killers,440 crunches and 60 q's. I did 8 minutes down and four minutes up plank and ended with 800 floor crunches. I love the stretch did a usual 5 to minute stretch. I think it is vital to stretch at least after the workout.

Day 1520! We are eighty away from 1600.Now, we do 2.

Day 1518 Ninety nine days until the start of the 2012 Summer Olympics!

A momentum grabber, as I got faster and faster. I am reminded that the exercise I have been doing for the last fours everyday is low impact. The life cycle and the arc trainer challenge the body but, in a linear fashion where as running would be considered high impact.

Today I beat yesterday's numbers by 27 calories. For those keeping track I burned 2417 in an hour.I did 45 88 pound assisted chin ups. 500 killer crunches and 600 crunches and 720 q crunches. I did seven minutes of down plank and 2 minutes of up plank. The last exercise I did was 800 floor crunches. I weighed in at 183.

Day 1517 Busy day, let's keep 2400 in the mirror.

I kept it all in the front mirror right to the end. I was 24 behind heading into the last five minutes. So I was actually a little more than a half a minute behind. I burned 2390 which was awesome. I finished very strong and felt great. Some one said to me hay, Rome was not built in a day. To that I replied , "I am sure to build Rome they got better every day."

Did 30 84 pound assisted chin ups. 400 killers and 500  crunches and 720 q's. Then 5 minutes of down and 4 minutes of up plank with a finish of 800 floor crunches.
I weighed in at 182.

Day 1516 Do we seek pleasure or do we just avoid pain?

The simplicity of life. Is it just that all we want to do is to avoid pain and seek pleasure. Then, is the real difference between individuals is that some people find pleasure through effort and hard work because the know they will the receive the pleasure that is not so obvious to others?

Things to ponder as we make our way to a Tuesday pep talk.

Had a good workout burning 2356 in an hour. Decided to do assisted chin ups and did 35. Slammed 330- killers, 500 crunches and 700 q's and 800 floors and did 6 down and 2 up planks. Weighed in at 182.

Day 1517 Busy day, let's keep 2400 in the mirror.

Day 1515 What a neat number!

In honor of today's need number I raced as fast as I could to burn 2500 calories in an hour. I burned 2462. Which is by far the most I have burned since I adjusted the weight on the arc trainer. Since I adjusted the weightto 400 pounds back on Day 1400?
As we did 2462 we did 340,480,720 1000 and 5 down and 4 up weighed in a t 179.

Day 1513 The Yanks home opener ( discussed) and a nice a day for a double.

We are ready to go. A slight modification as I am scheduled to work tonight. I slept in a little today as I got up at 7 am and afforded myself 8 hours of sleep. Now, I am ready for workout, rest, work,sleep workout work sleep plan. I feel better than last weekend when that was the initial plan. But now I am ready to give it a go.

We start with a double:
We great effort and with an awesome feeling we do a two hour and 4 minute cardiovascular workout. I burned 4692 calories on a different Cybex arc trainer. I know the 30 blah blah numbers of calories burned per minute are weak numbers compare to my 37TH double I did but, believe me these machines are not all equal.

Last week on Day1506 last Saturday I did 4783 in 122 minutes which was a 39.2 burn. Today, I did 4692 in 124 which was a 37.8 burn per minute. The difference? The machine. I also noticed the day was warmer and wore the same clothing I have been wearing all week.

My second part of my workout included; 21 76 pound assisted chin ups. 400 killers 440 crunches 700 q's. 800 floors and 7 minutes down an 2 minutes up of plank. I weighed in at 178 believe it, I was absolutely soaked.

Now we prep for work and the next work out then work.Back to back and a belly to belly.

I feel good- BETTER THAN GOOD AND BETTER THAN MOST!

Day 1512 We are on the road to GREATNESS!

Oh yeah? How so? Good question? For one the few get up and do a vigorous workout every day before they eat or drink.Few people have done it for 1512 consecutive days. Not many work all day on their feet and move heavy objects and have followed the same workout for as many days. I can only imagine that not many have done all that living on fruits ,vegetables and whole grains with seltzer and orange juice either.

TIMEOUT! 
All that means is that you have been on the road less traveled not the road to greatness? Okay, that is true but, in my heart and mind and body I feel I am on  the road to greatness.

Today, I beat yesterday. By burning 2381 calories in 60 minutes. I was stiff as I did 28 chin ups, 270 killers and 340 crunches and 450 q's. I down planked for 7 minutes and upped for 4 minutes. I did 900 floor crunches and weighed in at 183.

I need to pass a written test and pass an air check test to get a  radio show on a non commercial station.

Day 1511- Better than GOOD and better than MOST!

I burned 2375 in sixty. I know it is less than yesterday but I intend on feeling stronger as the day moves on.
I did 30 76 pound assisted chin ups.Plus, 350 killers 470 crunches and 610 q's.Four minutes of down plank and 3 minutes up plank with 800 floors. Weigh in was  182.

I am excited about tonight when I attend a class that hopefully will put me on a radio show.The fantasy phenom is my main aspiration and this could be a great stepping stone to reaching that plateau.

Day 1510 We are a hot knife going through butter!

Yep, a good strong workout a good 2424. Check that an excellent 2424 in 60 minutes. Its funny the further you get anyone from the event, the less emotion you feel about the event. Today, was truly awesome the energy the competitiveness the desire. I did 24 76 pound assisted chin ups.Plus, 370 killers 480 crunches and 720 q'sSeven minutes of down plank and 5 minutes up plank with 800 floors. Weigh in was between 182 and 183.

Day 1509 We are heading into the real spring in our step!

I feel totally rejuvenated. I just feel better and I did not even realize I was not feeling well. Hard to figure.

Blasted with a 2396 and had a different sequence in my routine today.Did my first of crunches killers 360 and crunches 450 then I did a nine minute down plank then a five minute up plank and 900 floors witha close of 600 q's. I weighed in at 183.

Amazing how good I feel.

Day 1508 The rest will serve me well

It did felt much stronger as I did a 2425 in sixty and was ignited with a 20 76 pound assisted chin up. A 330 killer crunch and a 440 crunch with a 570 q crunch.I down planked for 8 minutes. Up planked for 4 minutes and did 900 floor crunches. Weighed in at 184. I feel good and better.

Just a note as this day moves on. I excited for two things one, the fact that I feel much much better. I did not even realize how out of it I felt until I started to feel much much better. I just kept plugging along with a strong desire to do my best. Although, I did feel more knockout than normal after my double on Saturday.

A hectic day up early . Worked out at different gym( 7am-8 am) went to work. Had some sort of bug. Worked. Went home then finally ate. Then went to bed at 845Pm.

I am so glad how I felt did not continue for too long.The amount of time I felt less than myself was too long.

Day 1506 We do a double before we work at night.

Then get up and workout and work on Sunday. My haven may be in the Sunday hours between 5 pm and 4 am on Monday. As we can call it a pocket of break time.

I decided to negotiate my energy. I did a double where I burned 4783 calories in two hours and two minutes. I weighed in at 181. I passed on the second part of my usual routine of chin ups and crunches,and plank.I figured maybe I could squeeze in a nap before I work sleep and work out and then work again. My strategy for getting the nap in was to not be so long with the recovery ( drink & eat )

Come the next 12 hours I will be prepping to work out and work.

Day 1505 Make today your masterpiece.

A great way to bounce back as I got up at 410 am after going down at 1045 pm. I got on the machine at 447 am. I felt good as the screen on the machine read 2368 calories burned at 547 amI got out of my sopping wet clothes and put on a dry set of clothes and did 40 88 pound assisted chin ups with 330 killers.440 crunches and 530 q's a 8 minutes of down plank with 5 minutes of up plank and lastly 800 floor crunches. Then I must say a great stretch.
Weighed in at 185.

Day 1506 We do a  double before we work at night.

Day 1504 To quote Frank, " like painted kites, those days and nights, they went flying by."

I had a little more starch today as I blasted to a 2389. Did 21 76 pound assisted chin ups and did do 340 killers with 450 crunches and 650 q's. I got a little better on the down plank as I did a good seven minutes. On the up plank I did a good three. I did 800 floor crunches and weighed in at 184.

I have been thinking about the win one for the Gipper speech. It is so simple, but so much to the point.

I gotta go Rock, it's okay I am not afraid. Some day Rock, when breaks are beating the boys have them go out there and win one for the Gipper. I don't know where I will be then Rock, but I'll hear about it, and I'll be happy.

That is so awesome. So what ya say folks? Go out there and win one for the Gipper.

Day 1503 The Easter workout will be a challenge for two reasons ....

One is gym that I wish to workout at open. I just found out the answer is YES! Cool I will work out prior to going to work and a few hours after I get done working on Saturday night.

Today it was warm and I burned 2365. Did a different order of  exercises as I did my chin ups after my first three sets of crunches- Whoa- Only did 10 chin ups. Then went onto plank and floors. I did 330 killers,440 crunches and 570 q's. My planks were 5 down and 4 up mintes while my floor were 800. I weighed in at 185.

I feel awesome as I am moments away from leaving for the DAILY TOIL.

Day 1502 as we launch into the challenge to get 1510.

On Day 818 I started my full time gig. That is a total 684 consecutive days where I have got up expecting to work and workout.If you couple that with my other daily toil you get the picture of some of my activity over almost two years. I feel good and excited about the future. I think we all know that activity does that. We were born to move and I believe as often as we can. I also believe that movement by it's very nature produces energy.

Now a look at today's movement. I burned an excellent 2392 in 60. I did 20 76 pound assisted chin ups. With 330 killers 430 crunches and 530 quantum crunches( the ole elbow to knee with 10 pound of resistance. When I first started doing those I used to do 225 ponds of resistance and I would do about 25. I changed my mind when I decided to make it a more cardiovascular workout. I did 800 floor crunches. I was able to hold the down plank for six minutes and the up for four minutes. My weight was 187.

Day 1503  The Easter workout will be a challenge for two reasons ....

Day 1501 It is now a dead sprint to get to 1600.

The fifteen hundreds, what was the most significant thing that occurred in the 1500's? A lot of stuff. It appears to me be the beginning of recording  history.

Speaking of history, today the burn number was 2364 and chin ups were 20 with a 76 pound assist. The killers were270and the crunches were 340 while the q's were 430 and the floors were 800. The 7 minutes on the down and three on the up were good planks. The weight was 185.

Day 1502 as we launch into the challenge to get 1510.

Day 1500 Holy Cow. Oh man, I'll tell ya these Yankees.

Day 1500  real easy to remember. April 1,2012 equals 1500. Now we know 1500 days from February 23,2008 was  April 1, 2012. On this day, four years we were 40 days into the streak.


Today was the completion of the thirty sixth double. As I burn 4,946 calories in 2 hours and six minutes. I did 20 76 pound assisted chin ups. 360 killers,450 crunches,630 q's and 900 floors and 6 minutes down and three minutes up on the plank. I weighed in at  180.  


I battled to get the 126 minutes in and wished I had a better average but I felt awesome slicing through the workout. My average burn per minute was 39.25.


I did learn ( I probably knew but would not admit it) that holding on to the handles during the workout lessens the accuracy of the amount of calories that are actually burned. The challenge is to balance myself during the workout and not use the handles.


So how I will incorporate that effort into my workout.
