Day 472 I now have done 2791 workouts in 2645 days as of May 31, 2015

Saturday May 31, 2015 up nine forty five on machine @ ten fifty five
One hour on Cybex arc trainer
Burned  2143 calories.
Great to be back. Back barking, tooth barking not as bad today.
Highlight of the workout? Kept building on my calorie burns. 1st 20 minutes, 692. Next twenty 721 and finished with a 730 calorie burn in the last twenty minutes. As I wore no hoodie, just a sweat shirt. It was indeed a hot muggy workout.
Which as usual was capped off with incline crunches and some stretching and Tai Chi
Fought like stink to get to 2143.

In the last 2 minutes I burned 81 calories! Needed 150 in last 3 1/2 minutes. Got 140 which is a 40 per minute calorie burn.Wow!
Went from a 35.9 per minute calorie burn to a 37.0 calorie burn per minute. To reach 2190  calorie burn.
You know you have had a great workout when:
The bag you brought into the gym with dry clothes and a dry towel is much  much heavier when you leave with wet clothes from your workout.

Went from a 675 calorie burn in first 20 minutes.
To a 1384 calorie burn after 40 minutes then to a 2131 calorie burn after an hour.
My pace went from 675/20 = 33.7 calorie burn per minute.
1384/ 40= 34. Calorie burn 34.6 per minute.
2131/ 60 = Calorie burn 35.5 per minute. A 1.8 increase in calories burned per minute.
That may not sound like much of an increase but it took a great effort to pick up the pace. In the last 20 minutes I burned 746 calories that is 37.3 calories burn per minute.
Now, that is a 3.6 more calories more burned per minute. Had that pace continued I would have burned 2238 calories in the hour.

Quite the kick, was at 2067 after 59 minutes. Needed 33 in last minute to get 2100. Got 41. Which was an increase from 35 per minute to 41 calories burned per minute.
It all about the targets and whether or not you increased your quantifiable effort in the end. Then, how did you increase it? How hungry were you for that hour?
The challenge above all else is to get fired up and staying there by remaining focused.

Mothers Day 2015
As much as I abhor missing a day of working out. I must come to grips with the reality.
The gym that I am a member of for a poultry fee does not accommodate people that wish to workout early in the morning on Saturdays and Sunday's
I could have purchased my own equipment to do a workout.
So here I am at checkmate for the day.
I will use my extra 147 workouts to accommodate for today.
My body is in some duress but so be it.
Temp hits  almost 80 degrees! Again it's been a good warm stretch ofweather.
After waking at five forty five Saturday
morning on the ninth of May on machine at six fifty burned 2080 calories in an hour. Highlight of the workout?  Body was sore but felt better as I pursued the target of 2100.

Burned 2070 calories in one hour on the Cybex arc trainer. Decided  to pwear a Hoodie and a  t- shirt  It was 40 degrees at three thirty in the morning.Highlight of the workout? I finished at seven thirty  in the morning.

Burning 720 calories in the last twenty minutes. My aim was to get 2150 calories burned then when I realized that was close I was going like a madman to hit the 2122 mark.I just missed. It feels really  good to chase a target as hard as you can!

Today,  Easter I am scheduled to put  in sometime working, which nullifies my opportunity to use to gym because the gym is only available while I will be busy doing something else. For some crazy reason on weekends the gyms are not open til 7 am. Which flies in the face of someone's desire to workout early on a weekend.
In an effort to exercise without the use of the gym I got up at 5 am and took Chili with me for a long walk. So be it, that was my workout. It really bugs me that On days when the gym is barely available that I have not set up a much better alternative.

Arrived at the gym a ten o'clock  feeling less sick as all get out in the morning did a one hour workout and burned 2183 on a real machine! Highlight of the workout. Using the tougher machine burned 749 in last twenty minutes. Felt much better I have now taken 14 of the 20  of 500 milligrams pills  of Ceftin. I have noticed that my nose is not running as consistently, I am squeezing less and since yesterday  I had much more energy.
3/24/15 Let  me  tell  you a quick story first. Over the 39 hour period of Sunday around 6 pm to Tuesday today around 9 am I felt abnormally sluggish so last night at around 845pm I went to bed and slept for a good 12 hours. As I noted early I steadfastly went through my normal routine of doing a hard cardiovascular workout within about 24 hours of my last workout.

As I mentioned yesterday the machine I used malfunctioned at 55 minute mark of the workout, with that in mind I elected to use a different machine. I had used this machine many times before and found that the same extra usually yielded a greater calorie burn per hour. As I began my workout I kept that thought in mind and I said to myself this would a great chance to sweat a lot of the sluggishness and sick feeling out of me. My first twenty numbers were inflated as expected so I pushed extra hard to see if I could break the 2300 barrier once again. When I hit the 40 minute mark I felt good and said I can break the 2300  calorie per hour burn again. Only challenge was that I was off pace by about 2 or 3 calories. Then I decided to break the 2305 number in spite of knowing the number would be considered by my standard inflated. So I then decided let us see how much we can blow this number up by!
Shazam! After burning 1530 calories in forty minutes I broke the 800 in 20 mark by burning 808 calories in the last 20 minutes. My total calorie burn for that hour was 2338  calories which is the new highest amount of calories I have burned since I have used any Arch trainer machine in the gym. I do recall in the old gym they had some machines that some to produce larger calorie burns but I am and at this time could not be exact on how I burned.

The other day as I was walking Chili I slipped on some ice and I felt it some in my knee.. Since the last  2 weeks has been followed by about 45 seconds of plank exercise which is very difficult to do because of the pain in my shoulder caused by arthritis. My plan now is to do a 2 hour workout every other day and to do the plank on the day I do not do a little 2 hour workout. The pain  in the shoulders is immense when I attempt to do the plank. I did not do the plank today because shoulder was to stiff and sore.Agility test  ** yesterday came down to 5 steps blocks, logs, jackhammer, buckets and wheel barrel.

I'm It all starts by me getting on the Cybex arch trainer
and setting the program to manual. Then I set my weight to 400 pounds even though I weigh only 185 that provides a tough challenge because now the machine thinks I can handle more resistance. The reason I set the program to manual was because it offers a great test of stamina to keep going without any drop in resistance. I then set my time to 120 minutes. Reason I love the challenge of being able to maintain the pace. Next, the resistance was set 100% and finally the incline was set to its highest level 10 which provides a good constant  steep grade. This blog is called I love to workout. One other note. Although, I set the time for 120 minutes there is always a five minute cool down. At that time I then lower my resistance from 100% to 70%. So I actuallually do a 5 minute cool down every  time I workout. I have noticed that most people:
A- do not set the machine to manual
B- do not set their resistance above 50%
C- probably think I am crazy
So when you add in my extra 5 minutes everyday you can see that 5 x  is  x minutes which equals x more hours of workouts. However,I do not include that because I am not doing what I consider a hard cardiovascular workout during those 5 minutes of cool down.
By burning 4314 calories in 2 hours I exceeded my other high mark in a 2 hour workout.  Burned  4264 calories on February 16. Third highest.
