Day 982- To celebrate the day off from work let's do two!

I have not done this in awhile so, I will do two 60 minute work outs today. What the heck, I got the day off. I mind as well do what I love. My goal is to burn 1300 the first hour and at least 1200 the second.

It is a nice crisp day so let us put the oars in the water and row!

This will give me a good chance to get loose.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

The two Halloween workouts since this streak began:
  • Day 248-felt much better than yesterday- ate sauteed veggies spinach corn chips and kashi last nite- that's the most I have eaten all week. The ride: 1st 30 457- last 441 - did an 18 last min - did 3 min 30 second plank 1st one.
weights for express were overhead 30, row 40, pulldown 40, bench 40, preacher 30, triceps 30.did 3 sets of 10 quick.
I can already see a difference- I feel the reason is because I have so little body fat.
  • Day 617 880 calorie burn
Today, we play two!

Man! I gave it my all! Did 2 hours with out a break. Burned 2554 calories and did 100 crunches. Saw my bodyweight drop 5 pounds.I felt awesome.By burning 2554 in two hours I averaged a 1277 calories per hour burn. On the first hour I burned 1281. In second I burned 1273.

As I continued on with my 2 hour workout I had one thought that stood out in my mind.
Life is a marathon, not a sprint. A marathon by its nature is an endurance race that tests and tries the body, eventually taking it beyond its breaking point- Can I get an AMEN?

Tomorrow is the test of all tests- I love it! At 5:00 am My test will be operating on 18 and a half hours of rest. Oh baby! I will do it- I am excited about the challenge.

Day 981 With the advent of the holiday season....

We go for a workout number 984 since February 23, 2008. Its the 140TH straight Saturday we will have done a workout. Heck, I wonder if people that have Saturday hobbies have such proclamations. You know? There are people that golf every weekend or fish. People that are avid in their love for doing something. When you engage in consistent activities such as working every day or working out every day, you develop a sense for days and a perspective of days that is unfathomable to the people who don't.

I hope my accountability for every day doesn't give the wrong impression to my message. In my mind, which kinda scary at times, I have this incredible back drop of sporting events. I can name the winner and opponent of every Super Bowl that has been played. Along with that I can draw details from these events. That can be said for the World Series dating back to 1948. It is this feeling and memory I have for time that has passed that allows my to recapture other events that occurred on the same day.

Think of it as odd if you will, but to me I find it exciting to just take a second and flip through the pages of history whenever I wish. For example, I know when I attended my sister's wedding because Patrick Ewing missed a finger roll layup that would have sent the Knicks into the NBA finals on May 21, 1995. Or my wife's Aunt and Uncle's anniversary party of 40 years on October 5,1986. Then attending the 50Th anniversary party 10 years later and telling them how his beloved Giants did on that date 10 years prior. Which resulted in 13-6 victory over the St Louis Cardinals.

Yes, sports has definitely been the back drop and this streak with its days now makes it easy to use it as a back ground for other occasions in people's lives as well as my own.

Now, we are on Day 34 of consecutive work and workout days. However, my w squared streak I believe will take a day off. I will only workout tomorrow. But at the conclusion of the day I should set a record for most days in a row of w squared- 34- Which reminds me of Greg Pruitt. Who is Greg Pruitt? He was a football that wore a t shirt with hello in the front of it and good bye on the back. Oh yeah, he was one fast dude.

Let us burn 1320+ in an hour!

How about 1305 which was more than yesterday's total of 1274. Although, I got 24 hours and 42 minutes of rest as compared to 22 hours and 54 minutes of rest the day before. So, we split again plus 31 on the calories and negative 2 hours and 12 minutes on the rest.

Now, we are going for Day 982 can I do two 60 minute workouts?
If that happens that means I will most likely be on short rest going after the next workout. How short? Maybe 20 hours!

Day 980 - With enthusiasm I proclaim a split!

Yes! I got on the machine 6 minutes earlier. No! I did not burn more calories than yesterday. I burn only 1274 today as compare to yesterday, where I burned 1304 in 60 minutes. After i purchased new sneakers and wearing for a day my feet took a good beating. All I got out of those shoes was a good challenge.

Well today, sans the new shoes and wearing the old ones I will conclude Day 33 of consecutive days of working and working out. W squared will continue for one more day after this.

DAY 981 awaits with it comes Saturday # 140!

Day 979 rested and was tested

The scoreboard reads 2 losses. However, the scoreboard does not reflect the workout. The slow start and then, the awesome finish to cut the margin of defeat down. I was beaten but not bloodied. In the first 5 minutes I barely burned 95 calories. Then, for the last 55 minutes I burned 1209 calories a total of 1304 calories burned in 60 minutes. I went from an average of burning 95 calories per five minutes to burning 110 calories per five minutes!

So, even though I got more rest ( 10 more minutes) and burned 16 less calories, I had a tremendous work out and feel great as a result of expending that energy.

So the nine hundred and seventies are over. Tomorrow will be day 980 of this incredible journey. A total of 982 sixty minutes or more of cardiovascular workouts have been done. The trail is now left behind me the path for a new way has been cut. The future looks bright. The challenge not so daunting. November 18Th is 20 days from tomorrow. Thanksgiving is seven days after that. Then Christmas is a month later.

The most beneficial result of accomplishing a goal is not in attaining the goal, but what you become as a result of its accomplishment. Agree or disagree?

Either way, Day 980 is quickly approaching....

Day 978 Less rest and increase calorie burn per hour: That's the goal!

Of course, at some time something has got to give. But when your target is to do that it makes it easy to stay on track and keep it FUN! Of course there are perimeters, the gym opens at 4:45 am. That means if I finish my workout around 630 am, the minimum amount of rest I can get from Tuesday to Friday is 22 hours and 15 minutes. The neat thing is, there is no limit on how many calories I can burn in an hour. Today the score was a resounding 2 category win. A sweep! I lowered my rest minutes and I burned 21 more calories than yesterday. My rest in between the conclusion and start of my workouts was the amount of time from 612 am yesterday to 508 am today. The total time was 22 hours and 56 minutes. Now yesterday I got 23 hours and 8 minutes of rest and burned only 1299 calories in the hour. So, to net it out, I had 12 minutes less rest and I burned 21 more calories. Can I get an AMEN on that?

How do I top that?

  • get in the gym at 453am
  • burn 1342 calories in the hour
Place your bets! Who thinks I can do it?
Strategy to do it
  • get up at 415am
  • get very psyched to burn 1342
  • set the goal at 1350!
It would be so awesome to do that!
The last day in the seventies awaits!

Day 977 The body responds favorably to the rest

Got a good 23 hour break between workouts. I had a goal of burning 1300 calories in the hour. How awesome is this I burned 1299.Why is that awesome because it keeps me hungry for that 1300! Vince Lombardi had a saying the will to win is far better than any event that occasions them! In my mind that means keep the hunger no matter what the result. Churchill went on step further when he said " failure is never fatal and success is never final." It is the spirit the drive the fire in the belly that defines the desire.

I felt awesome as I got on a very favorable roll during the workout. The weather has been awesome these last 48 hours!

We are starting to think about three years. The two challenges coming up are Thanksgiving and Christmas. Both days will have me scrambling to put together a 60 minute work out.

Ah----- Three Years! First we get day 978!

Day 976 A freshing warm spell hits the area and rejuvenates our star player!

Our star player? Who is that? Why its none other than YOU & ME! Who else is our star player who else means more to your team than you? After all, the team of you is named YOU! You and I are the key ingredient in the recipe. There is no other players so by default you and I are the stars.

How will the star play today? How will the performance of the star be better than yesterday? What attitude of success will this star bring to its play today.

One thought and question always grab me it asks would you rather have an excellent game? Our have game excellence?

My game today went as follows. However, I am certainly still playing. I burned 1281 calories in one hour on 19 hours and 15 of rest in between my last workout. That is not bad. I felt awesome. And the word rejuvenation rang through my brain!

Tomorrow we attack DAY 977 as we inch ever closer to Ce Town!
Inch by inch it is a cinch-Yard by yard it is hard

Day 975 We go full speed as we realign our use of the machines

Got a little tutorial today and was able to get the machine to give me more cooperation. I burned 1334 calories in the hour and did 1210 crunches. I felt awesome and strong and it certainly is a beautiful fall day here in New England.

I sure I have noted this before, when you get a good 24 hour break in between workouts you have much more power to do the workout.

Day 976 is coming down the road!

Day 974 here we go onto Saturday and its consistent course of events

As a conclude another 5 day work week and move on to a 2 day weekend of week. I feel some what relieved to know that I am reaching a personal best. The most days in a row that I have worked is 33 when I worked from May 31ST to July 3RD. I am in the processes of working from September 27TH to October 30TH. As of today, I am heading for Day 27 of that streak.

This is the 139TH consecutive Saturday I have worked out. Today's workout goals:
  • Get on the machine of preference
  • burn 1300+ calories in the hour
  • do 1000 + crunches
Actually, this was my daily workout routine prior to starting my current position at work.
I would have to say that my current day to day activities are far more strenuous than my previous workout schedule.

As I look around me I notice there is no one that engages in as much physical activity as I do.
My choice has been to be active. I truly enjoy being in motion. Its funny when I was between the ages of 8 to 17 I really kept in motion. I was always playing some sport or just running.

Now I can't run every where like I did back then, but I can walk and go from place to place quick as I wish. I have to believe that my daily workouts have kept my cardiovascular strength in great to engage in such activity.

So here we go, Day 27 and Day 974. Let the motion man run free!

Cool, felt the flow and let it go! Burned 1306 in the hour by increasing my number of calories burned every five minutes. By the time I hit the sixty minute mark I was burning 110 calories every 5 minutes! I also did 1200 crunches. So, I was able to hit my workout goals today!

get on the machine of preference - done
burn 1300+ calories in the hour- did 1306
do 1000 + crunches- did 1200

Oh Yes - Day 975 - plan as we all know we live in WAP- Reason we all live in WAP is because we all work a plan then we all work a plan. So, really we all live in WAP WAP!

Day 973 - And the 500TH post! Sorry no bells and whistles

No just straight talk. With a little more wind in my sails and a glint in my eye I woke up fresher than the last few days. As a result of my spryness I bounced out of bed and was on the machine 32 minutes after my feet hit the floor this morning. In so doing I captured the only machine which really works in the place I call the gym.

A little bit about the gym. The gym is designed to be a place where the plan of let us see how many people we can get to join at the CHEAPEST price. The price is about as CHEAP as it gets I suppose. But cheap does include not only the price. The service you get is deplorable. It is really a shame because the equipment is good. Hey, its good when it works. The trouble is apparently not for owner is it hardly if ever maintained. Why do I say that? Well, when you consider how long it has been since certain equipment has been fixed in the CHEAPEST place, you will know what I mean. In my estimation there are about 20 machines that go by the name of arc trainer. In my estimation only one works properly.

Hey, you get what it is you pay for. I suppose to the typical unmotivated person who will join a gym because its cheap and show up a few times then quit working out, its a marriage made in heaven. After all MR or MRS lazy come meet MR or MRS cheap. Here is your gym its cheap. So what ya say? Okay I am in. Great! Oh excuse I need this fixed or that is not working - Oh sorry we have to tell you it will fixed but... we cannot tell you when. Really ? Yes, sorry oh and thanks for your money which will be sucked out monthly out of your account. Oh, MR or Mrs lazy we love you here at MR or Mrs CHEAP!

Yes, folks the beat goes on and despite the lousy cheap gym I by the grace of God continue on this awesome journey of working out everyday. I am now at 976 workouts in the last 973 days.

Today I got less rest than yesterday and burned more calories in the hour. I burned 1255 and did it while getting less than 23 hours of rest in between the conclusion of my last workout.

CAN I GET AN AMEN?

As they say on the sports talk show around the horn- " we will now take a 23 hour break and see you tomorrow.
We go for 974!

Thursday, October 21, 2010

Day 972- Hey, this is the 499TH post to this blog!

So much said but how much was done? What is the old saying? When all is said and done. There is a lot more said than done. Not the case with this man's story. Every post of the 499 is about working out. I come to realize that no matter what kind of junk that gets thrown in front of me I am determined to make to the Ce town. I want that comma next to the number of consecutive days I have worked out. Heck, we are less than any except for February in a non leap year.

Raise your hand if you have read more than one of the 499 posts. Raise both hands if you workout on a regular basis and have read more than one post of the 499.

Enough of all that. As I hinted in paragraph one the equipment in the gym I work out in is poorly maintained. At this time I have a call into the owner requesting a comment on when the equipment will be fixed. As of two days ago NONE has been forth coming.

Today, on yet a different machine, I burned 1250 calories in the hour on 23 hour rest after sleeping almost 7 hours.Despite an awesome day of working out at work!

We are heading for 973- I am kind of curious what the challenges are that lie ahead. Aren't we all?

Wednesday, October 20, 2010

Day 971 The challenge is always within

It is questions folks that drive your vehicle. Goals keep us going, but questions keep us on track. It is the ones who ask the best questions more often that win. What is he talking about. I am talking about getting what you really want. Which by and large a good majority of us really don't know what we REALLY want. I think that's okay. Its okay because it is probably about as tough a decision you can ever make in your life. As I said it comes down to goals and questions.

Goals are usually an answer to our questions. Just as I said, "what is it that you really want." I have often thought this. If we knew when we were going to die, how much more would we get done? It is a fair question. Its like planning a sight seeing vacation. You ask yourself. What do I want to see? Well, I guess in the case of a strict timeline the question is what do I want to SEE myself do?

Today, I worked out in a different area of the gym on a different machine and I burned 1271 calories in an hour on 23 hours of rest. Not bad because I beat yesterday's amount of calories burned per hour by 24.

Day 972 - as we stretch it out!

Tuesday, October 19, 2010

Day 970- When you ask yourself a question or two when you first get up

Good things can happen. A sample question might be. What can I do to get out of this minor fog I am in so I can get to my workout? I cannot wait to workout today so I can see what I have, I wonder how much energy I got? Man, it felt good to rest I am wondering how my body will respond to the rest? Can I burn more than 1280 calories in an hour today?

Now that I realize I cannot use the machine I prefer what other machine can I use? What is the highest amount I have burned in an hour on the machine I will be using? Can I beat that number today?

These are all questions that are powered by a desire to get a great workout. You see, a great workout is what I expect every time I workout. As a result of that mindset I look for ways to burn as many calories as I can in an hour.By burning as much as I can in the hour I get a great workout.

Today using a machine in area 3 where there are no fans I wore three layers of clothing and burned 1247 calories in the hour on 23 hours of rest.

Well, we are into the seventies. A place I have visited eight times previous.
We are set for day 971!!

Day 969 For all of you who did not get up at 430 am and workout......

There is still plenty of good spots still remaining at you local gym or whatever area you can find to work out.The passion is there we were put on this earth to move! I believe to move often. Sure our brains can figure out how not to move but what about our bodies? The body is on of the most powerful forces we have. I have heard and have come to understand that the three forces that are constantly at work here are. Our ego which wants to look good. Our body which wants to feel good. And our soul which wants to do good. Our body is the vehicle that we need to operate we must take of it - Or it will leave us stranded on a deserted highway in the wee small hours of the morning.

Enough dissertations about life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. How happy are you? Are you making all the money you want to make? Are you saving all the money you want to save? Have you built your dream life? Are you living it? If you are not, why not? If you are may God bless you and allow to multiply many times over.

I burned 1280 calories within the hour today. I did it on 19 hours and 52 minutes of rest in between my last workout. I feel strong and energized. Today is Day 22 of the W2 ( WORK OUT AND WORK) DAYS.

We have cleared the sixties and are heading into the seventies. How cool, I ask, is that?
Day 970 is in the offing!

Day 968 Got my SSI! Sunday Sleep In

Awesome. The workout was strong. One hour of shear dynamite ... Burned 1321 in one one hour. Ah, rarefied air these days. Felt tremendous went on to blast out 1110 crunches. With an my nerve and sinew I burned those last calories and did those final crunches.

The bar has been set. I am going for the record of consecutive days in which I work and workout with out a break. The record is 33 days. I plan on taking Halloween off. Why that day? A the record can be set and B my second job will close its doors for my night shift.

Right now I am going for 21 today. I have 13 more to go.

Saturday, October 16, 2010

Day 967- Well here is another shot at it

Up one hour later than the current Monday through Friday schedule. Since Day 818 which was May 20Th 2010 I have been getting up at around 430 am Monday through Friday in fact I started out by getting at 5am and getting on the machine at 545 am. But I realized I feel better going to bed a little earlier and getting up at 430 am. The day I switched was 920. So for the last 46 days I have been getting up at 430 Monday - Friday. Saturdays I get up at 530 and Sundays I get up around 7 am.

Today, will be my 20 consecutive day of working and working out. My last day off was Day 947. Which was September 26Th- So my streaks for working and working out are as follows:

Thirty three days, thirty three days, twenty days and twenty days. Added to that was one 7 day streak. I guess will call those day W2 days! So, the record is 33 - Can I or do I want to break it?

Time for the gym and that delicious workout!

Delicious it was as we cruised to a 1303 calorie burn in 60 minutes. I took full advantage of the extra hour or so more rest in between workouts. I started strong and kept building speed as I continued.

As a bonus I had some extra time so I did a good strong 1,014 crunches. I used to crunches everyday but since I do not really have the time. I only do them on Saturday and Sunday. Its a weekend treat!
Tomorrow, is the next day. With the Good Lord willing we go after Day 968 --

Friday, October 15, 2010

Day 966- We roll with the punches

The individual that can be flexible without losing his determination is the individual that can win in the long haul. I say this because throughout this streak of days I have had several occasions to use different machines to complete my 60 minutes of cardiovascular exercise. So, today was no different. All the machines in the gym I workout in are set a little differently. Some are broken and can not do what I would like them to do. However, some are just set up to offer more resistance than others. Today for example, I got on a machine and I did exactly what I do on my machine I usually use. Step 1 set the program to manual-Step 2 set the weight--- but wait on the weight its asking me for my kilo grams? I don't know my kilograms, plus I do not trust the machine. So I get off it and repeat the set up on another machine. This one works and I notice its resistance when set to my normal setting is much difficult. Which is good a tougher challenge. I like tougher challenges. I am thinking about using this machine Instead of the one I usually use.

Burned 1233 calories in the hour and felt great during and after the workout-

We march with our head held high towards the seventies. Day 967 a weights!!

Day 965- We witness the ways of others and sometimes we say......

Surely not I. I would not ever do such a thing. Which reminds me of what the apostle Peter said when the Lord told him before the rooster crows you will deny me three times. Because of that simple lesson of how the one Christ decided to build his church on ( Peter) would be weak enough to do exactly what he said he will not do. I am always mindful of prejudgement. I workout very hard everyday and while I am pushing my body a myriad of thoughts race through my mind. I must admit because of my light headiness my thoughts are just that thoughts. almost sentences but not quite. I will say it is a cool feeling. Almost like sleeping while being awake. But there is always a baseline idea that just get amplified through my workout.

Today, it was evaluating the way a person in authority handles his position. It is an interesting proposition. Understanding that a small piece of what that person does is directly influenced by the person in charge of the other individual. Of course it is usually driven by incentives.

In most cases, it is a monetary incentive. Which unfortunately, drives 80 to 90% of our actions.

You see, not when you workout. Something else drives you it different vehicle. You are strictly driven by you !

Today, I burned 1273 calories in the hour. Yes, that is the same amount I burned yesterday. But I gave myself more rest today. I started at 507 am. However, I slept a ton more. I was able to get to bed at 945pm and woke up at 430 am. That math tells me I slept for 6 hours and 45 minutes.

I awoke a little tight then once I loosened up I felt great. When are down to 34 days - Right now I have completed 968 workouts in the last 965 days. So we are now Down to 34 more days to reach 1000 consecutive days and 31 workouts to reach 1000 workouts!

I wonder if I can do another 2 a day workout before I hit 1000. Focused on day 966!

34!

Wednesday, October 13, 2010

Day 964 - Up earlier 350am, Whoa

Ready to go. Was beaten to the spot yesterday. If I show around 445 am will I get the machine I normally use? I am psyched to get going. The machine yesterday was set for much more resistance and it presented a more challenging workout.

I am curious to see my performance. Day 964 here we are and here we go!

Well, I felt like I had a good amount of early morning energy and I was right. I rested for 22 hours and 38 minutes since I completed my last workout and I burned 102 more calories today than yesterday. By burning 1273 in the hour I burned about 21 calories per minute.

Feel awesome, and still feel like I have a lot of energy.

Can we talk about it? Thirty five days to go to hit 1000!!!

Day 965 ...

Tuesday, October 12, 2010

Day 963 - It has been thought ....

By many that the organization or individual that can relate to the most people on the other person's level wins.Does that mean speaking like a street person to a person who spends most of their time on the street? Yes, it does. Does that mean speaking or communicating like a an executive board person to a person who spends most of their time in front of board members? Yes, it does. When you can reach a person's hot buttons and talk in their "kitchen" you will have a better chance of getting your message across.

What does this have to do with working out? Well my message in posting for the last 450 days in a row is to communicate a simple message. That is, vitality and working out go hand in hand. Also, that working out can be and is fun. Along with that, if you do not work out, you should. If you do work out, try working out more.Plus, if you do workout more then try to do it EVERYDAY!

Today, I chose to work out in area 3.It amazes how identical machines are calibrated to different levels of resistance. Today, I battled with all I had to do a workout set for 100 % resistance and level 10 incline for 60 minutes. I noticed that the resistance was far more stronger than my usual machine. So be it! I had an awesome workout. In burning 1171 calories. Heck, the next time I get on that machine I will use the same settings and beat that 1171 total in 60 minutes!

Day 964- Please.

Monday, October 11, 2010

Day 962 - When life gives you lemons what do you do?

The cards are dealt and you look at what you got what do you do? That is about all we can do isn't? The challenge is put out there daily. You know every day life gives us one big fat question.Everyday we answer it by are response. I have discussed this before but I feel a desire to go over this again.

According to Steven Covey : He refers to stimulus pause response. Every action has a reaction. First, there is the action then a pause, then a reaction to the action. It is that pause that usually dictates the reaction. when we pause before the action what we are doing is calculating the response. He talks about the areas we can go to respond. He talks about response ability. Kind of clever, huh? He talks about using our imagination, conscience, self awareness and independent will. The tools are there we just need to use them.

Today I felt good I rest 19 hours and 52 minutes prior to the conclusion of yesterday's workout. And I burned 1285 calories which exceeded yesterday total of 1245 by 40 calories burned. So I got less rest than the day prior and I burned 40 more calories. Now, that is a great way to start the day!

963 ------

Sunday, October 10, 2010

Day 961- Plenty of rest yields.....

We will find out. It is now 819 am on a beautiful Sunday morning. Three forces come into play here.
  • the desire to do the workout now is intense
  • the knowledge that the more rest I get the better my calorie burn per hour
  • resting more now means less rest tomorrow
The triangle of decision is interesting. All three has a great influence. The clock is ticking. The pilot light is burning and is just ready to be ignited!

The goal is set - Ready Aim Fire-
Many of us are caught on a teeter toter we have emotional reasons to do things that sometimes conflict with logical reasons to do things. Along with ever present dominant reasons to avoid doing things. Tony Robbins calls them ERBN,LRBN and DRAB. Quite the lexicon of conscious awareness of our choices.

Enough gibber jabber - Time to workout!

burn 1245 in area 3 - one thing I did factor in - using my favorite machine- All bets are off with any other machine- Felt great gave it my all

Day 960- New ground: the sixties

This day in workout consecutive streak history. On Thursday October 9Th 2008 Day 230 ( 730 days ago) this writer rode the life cycle for one hour while burning...Here are my notes:

day 230- up early in gym @ 6:30 am -w/o 858-166 lbs
plank 2 min , 1 min, 35 secs: I started a little flat pulled a 247 4 1st 15 - then outta gas- 308 @ 20, 430 @ 30 min, Why such a drop off? Maybe not enough rest in between.

Even back then I was mind of my pace.

Spending my time focusing on 963RD workout. My goal is to burn 1300+ calories in the hour. The weather yesterday was so awesome that I hardly felt at all tired although I had a full day of expending energy.

I have set my sights on this magical number 1300 - Its all I can see, let's have at it!

I remembered my vision, I saw a clear concise mental picture. I ran towards its creation. I felt and smelt it. But I just could not reach it. How cool is that? Every sub modality was at work and just not quite there. I love it because it plants the seed for tomorrow's efforts.

Day 961 will see the number 1300 get revisited and then past. Today I got 24 hours and 50 minutes of rest. I burned 1295 calories in the hour. So I got an extra 1 and 45 minutes of rest and I burned 41 more calories an hour.

Day 959- The numbers didn't show but I felt the flow!

Ah, the flow. That magical feeling when the workout does not even feel like a workout. The flow is ever present when your body feels just right with world. You don't feel like you are in the world, you just sense that you are in it. You feel like you are just watching the world from another dimension. Things are moving around you but you are totally centered.

I felt stronger as my workout grew longer. Burning 1254 is not a lot of calories to burn in 60 minutes but it sure felt great increasing my rate of calories burned per minute. I felt not at all tired although I gave it my all.

Tomorrow is day 960- only four more sets of 10 days to go. We are heading for the 60's Man!

Day 958- You know I love it!

When you burn 1275 calories in an hour before 6 am you gotta love it. Today was identical in numbers of calories burned per hour as yesterday. I had a longer break between workouts. Five minutes longer but, I slept about 2 hours less. I went down at 1145pm and got up at 415am. So, I got 4 and 1/2 hours of of sleep. The night before I got 6 and 1/2 hours of sleep. Hey, I still was able to burn 1275 which was awesome and is awesome.

Sometimes I wonder if I am not a little over the top. i noticed most people around me say hello to everyone when they come into the area they are working out in. Some times they chat a bit. I do not engage in such activity. Reason I am usually too focused and determined to beat yesterday's total of calories burned. That must be odd to a lot of people or maybe they just view my actions as rude. No matter like the man once said I here to hunt! I am to catch something no just pass the time.

I think it all comes down to purpose. My purpose is to feel great while attaining my work out goals. My goal is to fill every second of my time gym in the gym working hard. I do not have nor do I allow myself much room for any other activity.I get in I do my thing and I get out. I have noticed during the week when I feel more pressed for time I just go full bore and move on.

On Saturday and Sunday I do slack off a little bit after the work out.

When are 41 days from November 18TH 2010. Sensational!

Day 959 here we come!

Day 957- By the grace of God goes I

Ain't that the truth. Can I get an amen? Retired earlier last night. Went with a testy ailment. Got in a good bunch of hours of sleep got up before the wake up call. then tested out the ailment and forged ahead. And as I said" By the grace of God goes I."I had an awesome workout. I even went with three layers of clothing just to ensure I would a maximum amount of sweat equity in my workout.

As it ended, I burned 1275 calories in the hour. Which was 16 more than I had burned yesterday. I also rested 16 minutes less than I did yesterday. Yesterday's rest in between workouts was 23 hours and 10 minutes, while today's was 22 hours and 54 minutes.

In summary I burned 16 more calories on 16 less minutes of rest. Awesome I am psyched!

Tomorrow with the good Lord willing, will be Day 958.
I am looking forward to its challenge.Stay loose my friends.

Day 956 When you come right down to it, the enemy cannot win but, I could still lose!

In life we have good and we have evil. Things could be incredibly good or at times they could be very bad. The subtle difference between good and bad is the focus here. There are always the two forces present good and bad or evil which ever you want to call it. Since the choices are there it is up to us to decide.

I believe if you keep doing good long enough things will turn out great. So in my opinion bad cannot win in the long run. It is only when we stray from our course and not heed this simple belief that we run into trouble and lose.

I once heard this analogy life is like a football game. The coach calls the plays that are designed to score a touch down on every attempt. But what happens? Usually there is not a touch down on every attempt. Why? Well, usually its because not everyone did everything right. But what also happens in the game? The players use the next play that is designed to score a touch down. And usually the process is repeated until one of the teams score a touch down. So if you keep doing whats right and listen and follow the direction of the coach you will score. In life it is when you do not follow the coach and do not stay with it you lose.

So the enemy is not following the plays because if you follow the plays you will win. That why it is easy to say "the enemy cannot win but I could still lose."

I thought of that as I made strives to beat yesterday's total of calories burned with in the hour.
I burned 1259 and I had a rest of 23 hours and 10 minutes. I just kept on calling the plays and eventually I scored!

As life rolls on, Day Nine fifty seven wants to take a crack at the plays - Just keep calling your plays and eventually you will score.

Day 955- When you think about it, Leadership is everything

You show me anything in America that works. Then I will show you a leader at work. A successfully boy scout group, girl scout group, company anything a successful football team and you find a leader behind it.

I once heard this, no one will follow a dull, disillusioned dad gum cry baby and like all of them politicians out there. The truth of it is we are all our own leaders. We make the decisions that chart our lives. We have no other leader but ourselves. The key is to follow some one who is a good leader because a good leader allows you to become your own leader. It is only when you are willing to take a risk and suffer the consequences to you grow as a leader.

A leader makes commitments and stands by them. A leader picks leaders and stands by them. A leader does not quit. A leader does everything he can to make the people below them successful.
A leader calls a shot and believes in the call.

Today, I went for it. I knew the challenge was going to be there. I rested 18 hours and 50 minutes in between workouts. A true two a day! I burned 1253 I wanted more but I gave it my all. And felt awesome during and after.

Nine fifty six will be on 20 + hours of rest. I am both psyched and blessed.

Day 954- I got 8 hours of sleep!

That folks is noteworthy.Burned 1336 calories in the hour today. Look at that got almost 27 hours rest between workout and poof burned almost 1350 calories. Did 980 crunches - Felt awesome!

Funny, I had not slept that long for a long time. When I woke up I felt like a different person.

My mind needed that rest. The weather so cool and comfortable. Very easy to drift off to sleep.

Moral of the story is the sleep of the laborer is sweet.

Day -Nine fifty five will be exciting!

Day 953- Fall has arrived!

There is a nice refreshing chill in the air. As we zero in on quad city we will be given cool climates. It is a Saturday, actually it is the 953/7= 136TH Saturday of this magnificent streak. We all want and deserve energy. Energy is the key. As I added yesterday, I will not workout until around 7 am. The span of hours since 611 am( when I finished the vigorous portion of my workout) yesterday will be 24 hours and 50 minutes. That is a lot more rest than I give myself from Monday to Friday.

Here is a quality question. If your life was rated as the level of a thoroughbred race horse, would you enter yourself in the Kentucky Derby? And would you bet on that horse? I am not sure I would go that far. But that is certainly an interesting way to look at life.

As we all run for the roses every day. Some are trained and ready for the race others are not even showing up at the starting block.

Off in the distance, I can hear the start horn calling me to the line. My question is am I dressed, fed and ready to play?

As I think of my daily calorie burning goal I realize, it has to be 1300 calories in 60 minutes.
Today, I will run with the thoroughbreds and nail down a 1300!

My mind, my heart, my vision and my desire all cried out for 1300 in 60 but it was not to be.
Interesting, as I was expending every thing I had to hit that total a thought ran through my mind. It was a quote from Lombardi it said "if you chase the heck out of perfection you will catch excellence and greatness." Well, I was chasing the heck out 1300 and I guess I caught a very awesome work out. With the awesome workout came a tremendous feeling of well being.

Day 954 -- 1300 or what? I am focused and determined to make it happen. Jockeys get on your mounts!

Day 952- A big rain storm is coming

It promises to bring with it, heavy rains and a new season - fall. Yes folks, just like when your pounding real hard while doing your workout and you are burning about 1250 to 1300 calories an hour and you think you are about to die-POOF- You feel awesome all the pain goes away and all you are left with is a delicious feeling of accomplishment ! Now, with the advent of fall and cooler weather we are only showers and hours away from a new season.

Every time it rains I think of this philosophy. Life is like a rainy day. When the rain comes we have only but three choices go out and get wet and deal with the consequences, stay in or go out using an umbrella. How simple, how true.

The analogy speaks volumes about life.

Blasted with 6 minutes less rest and burned 21 less calories.
Got 22 hours and 54 minutes of rest and burned 1269 calories.
Tomorrow, Day 953 with the good Lord willing. The gym will open around 7am.At 611 am it will be 24 hours of rest for me.I should get 24 hours and fifty plus minutes of rest.

I am both psyched and blessed who could ask for more?
